We too are parking at Cockfosters, and yes i know there is no Tube station at Charlton, but the overground train line isnt too far!
i remember hitching to the valley in the 70s to see the (infamous) who concert. we didnt touch public transport that day i dont think. is the new valley on the same site?
Take the tube from Cockfosters to Charing Cross station BUT you can also go to London Tower Brdige station and then take the overhead railway to Charlton. 5 mins walk from the ground and No Parking issues at all. I never said the tube went all the way though.
Yes. Not only that its the same ground just with New stands instead of the banked terraces that used to make Charlton so big and open. The ghost of Derek Hales on that pitch lives on ? Lol.
well i remember the ghost of keith moon from that day. it was apparaently in the guiness book of records i think for being the most over subscribed concert ever or summat?
Way to go Mussie. I saw the aged Derek Hales and Keith Peacock after the match strolling out of the ground. One looked his age the other didn't. I shall leave that one open as to who was who. As for the travel, no more than 3 hours from Hull to Cockfosters, caught the tube to Charing Cross/Leicester Square and then the overhead rail to Charlton. Avoided all the delays and hassle and most of the rain and storms.
