Serioulsy though - those instances, over a long period of time are dreadful and were quickly rounded upon by the majoirity of Celtic fans. EDGE If you look at the headline of this thread you'll see it's called Hatred Breeds Hatred. We've had decades of the "them and us" attitude. Both clubs have cashed on in this. The problem is that the trouble seems to be escalating of late. If you look at some of the ****e spouted on FF and even on here by the likes of Girvan you can begin to understand why these things are happening. For ****'s sake, I was on FF one day and there was a thread where Rangers fans were blaming their own bigotry on Catholic/Faith schools., ie. "if there were no kafflic schools there would be divide" Now, I'm against faith schools myself but when you have people trying to justify their own bigotry by blaming the other side is it any wonder we've reached a stage where people are sending letters bombs and making threats against people just because they play for or support a particular team?

People don't like Lennon, Rangers fans don't, DU fans don't, in fact every/most non-Celtic fans in Scotland doesn't like him, but is that sectarian, or is it because he's a devisive charachter? I think only the people who abuse Lennon could answer this. I've never understod why people take it to the lengths they do. The only thing that bothered me about Novo was that he was a lying prick. Other than that I never gave him a second thought. I don't like Lafferty either because, to me, he epitomises everything that's wrong with modern footballers. However, I would never think to shout obscenities at them or scratch their cars or send threats in the post. And even if people didn't like Lennon as a player or even as a man it cannot justify or even explain the level of hatred and abuse he gets from footbal fans and Rangers fans in particular.
