You must be using the wrong streams if you're getting adverts popping up during the match (either that or you need to go "full screen") I've never had sex sites pop up either, are you sure that this isn't due to something that you may have inadvertently downloaded during previous surfing sessions?

1950canary, I'm not sure I understand the argument your making other than on a moral level.

The premier league owns its own rights and can do what it likes. Quite frankly why we may think on an intellectual level that it is the premier leagues job to support lower league football teams, it actually isn't. Football is a business and if people don't want to pay for (and go and watch) the product you provide then stopping them from seeing what they actually want, so they consider coming to you, shouldn't be the answer. The upshot of any extra revenue would be a trickle down to lower teams anyway, through transfer revenues, highlight deals etc. I have no figures for whether the upsurge in illegal streaming has heavily hit lower league gates but I doubt it. I live in Somerset and I am in the military, a season ticket is both unattainable to me because of the waiting list and not knowing where I will be from month to month, so I would be unlikely to get to enough matches in a year for it to be worthwhile. This doesn't make me want to go to Huish Park on a Saturday afternoon, conversely I suspect many people wouldn't stop watching say Torquay or Weymonth to watch Man Utd online, I can't prove that but it seems unlikely.

Sky (and conversely the PL from the deal) can control the output your right, but it cannot clamp down on streaming without effecting its own overseas profit line. While Sky sells all the matches abroad they will subsequently all be available to stream, the only way to stop this is to stop selling them to external broadcasters thus hitting profits hard. Your analogy is right, but your using it wrong, as soon as sky puts a camera in a ground and broadcasts the signal to somewhere in the world that is your equivalent of a cd/dvd being available to download. The only way to stop this is not to sell the rights to overseas broadcasters, a very cut your nose to spite your face attitude, as so far streaming is having little to no noticeable affect on football, especially considering the new deal recently agreed is the biggest ever. The point is Sky itself is not losing any money to streaming, streaming shows matches Sky doesn't, but it is losing out on a potentially huge revenue stream as streaming will always be around as long as the game is on somewhere in the world.

To be fair, you are a complete cock mate

(edit: this was most certainly not aimed at you Monty, but at that Swords fellow who appears to have finally vanished. Great work Dave, that'll learn him!!)

I think you are the best poster on here myself
50% good posts and 50% comical
As for the OP of this thread, I would be prepared to pay £4 for the game
If Norwich were playing QPR, otherwise I would pay 40p

    Dave

You shouldn't be trying to get people banned of our own boards, let alone the whole site.

Bad call from me I'm afraid:emoticon-0127-lipss

I'm with dave here, either support his decisions, or be prepared to take over the moderation of this board, he's said before that he'll step down if any of you think that you can do a better job...

Fully support Dave. I've read enough of Swords posts for a while.

i agreed with carrabuh that trying to get people banned from the whole site is not something i like seeing. banning them from our own board is fine in my eyes, but as always, i believe dave knows best in this case and back his decision <ok>

They actually do this on a pay-per-view basis online out here in Switzerland but so far I have only seen the "big" games adverstised. There are a maximum of 3 games per match day and you can guess the teams they show... Then again it has only been 1 week so there is still hope. It costs 5.50CHF (£3.60ish) per match which is pretty reasonable considering everything else here is about 4x the price of the UK!

Likewise out in Switzerland, for 3 months, I use a VPN ($10 subscription monthly) to connect to UK for Sky, IPlayer, Olympics on BBC Sport etc. Money well spent IMO, VPN = Insane

Wiziwig.tv is the best out there, but you need it cracked...

I "log on" as "anonymous user" and the password is already filled in, goes straight to the stream, Bloodzeed or the Russian streams are the best, but as I said you need it cracked...

I recommend Sweden for all Carrow Road exiles. I pay less than £20 per month and can watch every single PL match live. That includes unlimited films too. I only missed the Wigan away match last year... because I was in England!

Drinking a beer with each match costs a fortune though :emoticon-0101-sadsm

I'd pay a tenner per game for all the Town games I cant get to if it was a proper quality stream. I wouldn't pay a penny to watch any other sides pay per view though, I watch too much footie on Sky as it is <ok>
