Colin Alcide, played 26 scored 3, which fair enough is bloody prolific compared to some of the jokers mentioned on here, but he was gash, remember my mate getting punched in the face in one of the pubs on Newland Ave for calling him fuc**ng sh1te after a televised game, still to this day don't understand why anyone took offence to that! edit, reading his wiki page is quite funny, 'His greatest moment for York City came in a match at home when he played centre back, taking a meaningless free kick in his own half, he went to punt the ball up and sliced it into the Popular Stand.'
Maybe we should get Richard Hinds back, despite being a defender, he's scored three in the first three games of this season.
Colin Alcide was part of the great escape team however & I think City fans of a certain age will always hold those players dear. Some were pretty poor, ability-wise but with Joyce at the helm and players like Brabin & Whittle to fight for every ball, the plan worked.
Yann Ekra joined French L2 side Chateauroux & played for their reserves season before last but appears to have drifted out of football. I kept in touch with him on Facebook as I speak French.
He's now playing for the Harrisburg City Islanders, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in the USL Pro League.
That goal he scored against Macclesfield (I think) in 2003/04 is one of the best i've seen whilst watching city.
