You have misused and mis represented my statement. With Taylor we knew about his value through his involvement with the Welsh U-21 and Curt as a coach alongside Flynn. We didn't screw around in the media. We made a discrete inquiry to the club, finalized an offer that Wrexham found acceptable return for their minor investment in the player and a deal was closed. This is how business shoud be done. My comment was about Rodgers abandonment of good faith and of speaking out of both sides of his mouth. Rodgers wants it all ways and along as he comes out ahead screw you. If this guy wants to start tampering with other clubs' players he should be snapped back into line. My complete post was about sometimes you have do things you ordinarily wouldn't want to waste time doing to make sure that people like BR are properly dealt with and that blurred lines of good conduct are reinforced.
Bollocks to rogers anyway! 40 bloody quid that Elvis costume cost me! Don't get to bitter sa9 You were'nt forced to spend £40 on a costume,my son & I wore one & we had a fantastic party atmosphere celebrating the succes of a fantastic season.Anyway Brendan is only part of the jig saw of our succes even tho he led us to the premier league! lets not forget there there were others who did their bit. IN HUW WE TRUST
I was only taking the piss. Do you really think that in the great scheme of things, I'm bothered about a poxy elvis costume? Good God, lighten up son
I have said many many times that until a contract goes back to the old days where the only involvement a player has is whether he signs or not and not have these clauses put into the contract by the player then the fairer it will be... contracts today side with the player and not the club and are nothing more than a bit of paper.......The old way was you agree a specific term of contract and then if another club bigger or not comes in for your player then its up to the club and the club only on whether to sell or not. Jenkins wanted to keep joe allen and under the old way he could have and there would be nothing Joe allen could do about it, but since the contract power has moved in favor from club to player then once joe said he wanted to go then unfortunately there was nothing jenkins could do to stop it, and thats why joe is at liverpool today.....nothing to do with Brendan or jenkins but the way we do contracts today, there are too many clauses and safety nets for the player when in reality if you are prepared to take the money and the length of contract then you should honour what you have agreed too and let the club decide on whether they want to sell you or not......
£22 Million for Rodgers and Allen!! Got to be the deal of the century, let's hope we do the same for want away Sinclair!...................
Rodgers interview after the game last night: "When it comes to other players from other clubs I don't talk" Siggy and Allen ring a bell?
like i say....player power....A player only has to hear that another club is interested in them as in the case of joe when Kenny made it known then thats it....If he wants a move then the club has no power anymore to stop him and to me thats wrong....
"A player only has to hear that another club is interested in them" Yes, Dai. And usually they hear that by tapping up. Siggy was fair game as he hadn't signed but there's no doubt the deal was publicly scuppered by Rodgers through his comments. I laughed so hard when he went to Spurs. Likewise Joe Allen (who was not fair game) - again public comments from Rodgers. All this unsettles players and is tapping up - either directly or more usually indirectly. As you know I was with you on wishing Rodgers well initially but his dealings since departing us have made me think he's a slimy little toad. The Dempsey debacle proves it imo.
kangaroo get up to date with the rules mate. tapping up is against the rules and Brendan never tapped anyone up because if he had he would be in trouble and jenkins would have made sure of that...so dont be silly...
At this point anything that distracts Rogers, puts him off his game even the slightest is fine by me. This is yet another entertaining side show ... the tune that keeps rattling around inside my head is "the wheels of the bus come off, off, off" Rogers' self-absorption took him to Liverpool, took Allen to Liverpool, didn't help the Sig situation .... karma gives us ML, Chico, Michu, Guz, Ki and Hernandez to come, a technical improvement to our style and a brighter light at the end of this season's tunnel. Injuries permitting I can envision where we will be at the end of the season - an improved squad, an improved position in the league - we continue our upward trajectory. Can't say the same for Liverpool, nothing tremendously exciting, nor fantastic, nor inspiring about their start to this season. Can't see them ending above where they finished last season - in fact I think I would go as far as to say that would be a good finish for them. We got 7M for a manager we don't miss at all, and 22M for a player we don't really miss either - a bit harsh to say right now but I think that's where we're headed with Allen. The only loose end to tidy up is the player interference business and Fulham have taken the lead on that. I'm suddenly a big Fulham fan.
Yankee as much as I would have loved £22 Million for Joe, I think we actually got £15 Million!!...............
Dai, why are you so intent on rubbishing Allen with constant claims that he wanted to go no matter what? He didn't want to go anywhere until rogers turned his head, and was still unsure then. I know this for an absolute fact. If Allen wanted to go so bad, he would have put in a transfer request and rogers wouldn't have had to treble his wages. I doubt he'd have wanted to go to the club most hated as a Man utd fan either...which is what he is. He's only at Liverpool because Rogers is. Simple as that. You believe what you want to believe from what your mate cleaning the Liberty toilets tells you, I'll believe what comes from Joe himself
Who is rubbishing joe???? I have known that young man since he was 9 years old and have seen him grow.....face facts....there was no tapping up. there was no skulduggery by Brendan, there was nothing jenkins could do,...the fact is joe wanted to go to liverpool, Kenny wanted him and Brendan wanted him, but brendan would not take him if we as a club could persuade joe not to leave. unfortunately that was not on the cards as joe wanted to move to a bigger club, Its as plain and as simple as that....joe had the power when imo the club should have the power....you can find all ways to blame brendan all you like but you would be so wide off the mark.....If you think that Brendan tapped up joe then where is the proof because if there was any then as sure as your arse points downwards jenkins would have done something about it.....think about what you are saying because you are saying that jenkings did not do everything he could to keep joe and and that was something he was desperate to do....Joe had the final say and good luck to him....
