"dipshit" Jeez have you started your period. The Spanish game evolved in a totally different way than here, their stadiums were built with public money and their tv deals are completely different etc. If your rant is anywhere near true both clubs will cease to exist after the FFP rules kick in, Y/N?
I'm no expert on this but is it not true that the other clubs in Spain are in trouble that is their own making and not the fault of Barca or Real? Just reading this. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2010/mar/28/barcelona-real-madrid-spain
http://www.givemefootball.com/european-news/barca-and-madrid-dominance-casts-shadow-over-new-l Of course it is not the fault of Barcelona nor Real Madrid that such a divide exists. Their dominance is perpetuated by interest in them and them only from overseas; Sky will show 100 games live next season, of which 74 will involve Madrid or Barcelona - but it is this upwards spiral that is driven by the interest and money flowing into these two clubs that keep them apart from all others. The new La Liga season begins this weekend and with it fans will be treated to the presence of Ronaldo and Messi once more and all the magic they can weave. There is quality further down the league for those who seek it and there is no doubt Spanish football teams can boast to be among the best in Europe, it’s just the gap is exacerbated by the presence of two teams that can rightly claim to be amongst the best in history. Even if the issue if TV money is readdressed it may be too late to stop the ball from rolling, such is the size and dominance of these two great teams. For the near future at least, a two team La Liga will exist at the very top.
Yernited have a big chip on there shoulder regards Barce and Real, due to the fact that everything Yernited aspire to be " Real and Barca actually are" Bit similar to there jealousy of our European Record
I like and dislike things about both af them, probably prefer Barce due to there working class left wing roots,as opposed to Reals fascist Franco roots
On OP: Real; just because lol. I can't find the other article but last year there was a chance for the other clubs to renegotiate the tv money in their favour. All the other clubs had a meeting in secret and came to an agreement. A meeting was set to face the big two together and force a reallocation. Two of the clubs ran behind the others and ratted to Barca who worked up to the arranged meeting putting pressure on other clubs and basically divided & conquered once again. So; in reality while these two are commercial bullies the others had their chance and bottled it so they deserve what they get. At the end of the day Real & Barca can't pretend to be the best in Spain if it's only them playing!
Im mixed. Purely based on personnel at Real. Want to see Alonso and Arbeloa do well but equally don't want to see C.Ronaldo or Mourinho do anything. I like Barca but not so much Mascherano, quality player who we miss but he left in a very ****ish way.
I don't really like either but Barca are amazing to watch so I would have to choose them if I was forced to pick one. Athletic Bilbao are my favourite team in Spain. I admire them for the way they run their club with that self imposed transfer ban on non Basque players and I also like the way they hate Real Madrid and Barcelona with a passion.
Real for me. Macca, Ronaldo, Zizou, Alonso, Arbeloa, Seedorf, Sukur, Hierro, Redondo, R. Carlos, just some cracking players in there, Raul and Morientes as well. Although if Depor or Valencia are on I try to watch as well. THe super depor team in the 90's and Rafa/Cuper Valencia teams were amazing to watch, always had a high admiration for them.
Kie to follow Alonso, Masch and Arbeloa...Hope they do well could nto care about the result, but enjoy the football
I do not like either team but if pressed I would go for Real. The over dominance of these two teams does La Liga no favours. Their financial clout domestically and internationally causes an unhealthy imbalance. I suppose the same could've said of City in England. At least in England this increases the competition rather reduces it. We now have 4 or 5 big clubs who could compete when a good player becomes available.
I love Barcelona - the style of play is out of this world and they make it look so easy. They were against Real Madrid last night who aren't too shabby but Barca had 70% possession!! Incredible.
