With a link to Hull City, I remember when we was due to play that game against Liverpool in 1989 in the FA cup and Bruce Grobbalaar was in Jim bells on ferensway (or was it called look Worthington), Also not a footballer as such but same year after we'd beat Aston Villa 2-1 at Boothferry Park and I'd got the City autographs I went to the away dressing room and manager Graham Taylor was outside, he was talking to a woman late 40's his wife possibly and I went straight in with "can you sign my programme" to which I'm sure his famous phrase was born and he told me to wait and said of my rudeness "do I not like that!" haha was p**s funny thinking back to it.

Other than Thierry Henry in Birmingham when I was about 12, I've never met a non-City player.

James Harper is the only one I've had a proper conversation with (Michael Turner in 2009 was more of a "Oi! You! Stay!" <whistle> )

Harps came into work a few times (he was having the interior completely redone in his car) and didn't half talk a lot. Nice enough guy, couldn't stand Bullard or Ashbee.
He did however have the cheek to complain about his £8,000 wages as they weren't as high as around £12,000 at Sheff Utd.

He says this to a guy stood there in mucky overalls, getting paid a couple of hundred quid in commission to restyle a footballer's car interior. I suggested we switch salaries if it was so bad. He wasn't keen.

    Well, here we go.

All the current Hull City squad and many from the past.
    Craig Bellamy
    Frank Lampard
    Adam Johnson
Special mention for Stephen Hunt, who is my favourite ever City player.
    I could go on

All of the City squad, loads from previous seasons, also had a conversation with Harper, he babbles on a bit. Also, Stuart Elliott has been to my house and also met Jermain Defoe at Wembley, England v Bulgaria.

Picture the scene, Los Angeles early 90's in Huntington Beach and Chazz is with the ladies in a fashionable beach side bar. Who does he spot in the corner but Clyde Best ex West Ham forward and one of the first high profile black players. Chazz casually wanders over and spends the next few hours shooting the breeze with Clyde who has his own company over there.

    Beat that.

Played golf with Stan McEwan & chatted to Nathan Doyle who is my sister's neighbour. Only non-City player I've met was ex-Monaco, Lille & Avignon player and now ex-Lyon assistant manager Patrick Collot who was my trainee in english. I also played golf against ex-Scarborough boss (one before Warnock) can't remember his name, Scarborough were Div 4 then.

We took the kids to see their Grandma who lives in L**ds unfortunately, and we all decided to stop by at a Pub with a ball pool so I could have a lager and the kids would be outta my hair for a bit... ;)
Across from me was Dean Windass sat with his wife and kids watching SSN on the T.V. (This was when he played for Bradford and we were in League 1) My eldest son came up to me and asked for £1 for one of them sweet machine things but he was with another lad and when they'd been to me they ran to Dean and my son had become friends with Dean Windass's son! I couldn't believe it. I told my son to ask Dean when he was coming back to play for the Tigers too and he apparently said, "I dunno pal, don't think they'd want an old fat man like me anymore".

That was an unexpected meeting. But besides that I've met most of our first team barring Amos, Jakupovic and Olofinjana. McKenna is quite a funny guy IMO.

Bumped into Bruce and Pallister in a pub in Littleborough Chatted away about football ("Utd" friend was a huge fan ZZZzzzzzz) Work that we were doing, Then Bruce bought a round in <ok> and then we chatted about me supporting Hull City and they laughed and said "Some one has too" all said in good fun. So we drank up friend got his going out shirt signed and we had a really good night.

This was about 16-17 years ago

Sir Matt Busby and Terry Venables are 2 of the more noted ones I suspect but maybe you could include Bobby Charlton, Denis Law, other names escape me at the moment.

I've met the majority of our main players over the past ten years or so, though I don't know any of the current squad personally.

Non City - George Best(he could barely stand up), Peter Osgood, Norman Hunter, Peter Beardsley, Dennis Law and a couple of others I've probably forgotten.

In the very early eighties I was part of a Hulls schools initiative to have players train with various London clubs along with other Kids around the country on a national scouting scheme. I was put at Tottenham two years running. I met most the squad at the time but remember Steve Perryman being really good with us, Glenn Hoddle (and his brother Carl who was in the youth set up) spending all his time looking in the mirror preening himself - the one that stood out for me was Graeme Roberts - I was a full back so was paired with him to train for part of the sessions with 2 other Kids. He was great bu an animal - it didn't matter that we were 11/12 year old kids and he hit us as hard as f*ck in tackling - I vaguely remeber being whacked by him and thinking I'd died and had been re-incarnated as part of the training hall roof!
Happy Times - never got me anywhere though!

The only one I can come up with in my mind is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomas_Brolin :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Nervous 12 year old Febbos walking up to him whiles he was shoving down pie/cake at a cafeteria in a local city, asking for an autograph.
I've seen several others, but Tomas is the only one I believe, that I've spoken with.

    He looks fairly miserable nowadays

I've just remembered, I met Buffon and Viera in Barcelona, Buffon was quite friendly, but Viera had a couple of minders with him and wouldn't speak to anyone.
