Just how many people have been panicking about our lack of activity in thr transfer-market??Just a few short months ago,the main debate on our board was who should replace Bruce as our manager.Lord knows who will be proved right in the next season, but Mark Hughes seems to have signed any player who is available and breathes, and Martin has kept everything quiet,low-key,and professional.I know that I am more than glad that our club made the right decision in appointing MO as our new manager.Time will tell on this, but,I just have a feeling that great times are ahead for our club.Three points at the weekend,a debut goal for Fletcher are my predictions....what are yours.lads and lassses?
I wouldn't say I was panicking but was slightly worried as we still had 3 places to fill that we all know. And I hate the last minute deals we have done over the years. Get them in and get them bedded. As for Hughes I thought he was shafted at City. I recall watching a documentary about QPR before Hughes and the directors were getting involved in every aspect of the team even to the point of saying who should play. Are the directors doing these deals and Hughes is just along for the ride and the money. But overall I'm very pleased we have MON over Hughes.
MackemsRule,it does feel good that we have our main targets signed, sealed and delivered already.Just hope it's true!!
Agreed about having MON over MH, much better feeling. And I'm glad we're not smash'n'grabbing like QPR. One of my best feelings this summer is that we're playing within our means... However... technically... we've only signed two frees so far...
one of my "memories" of the transfer window of the last few seasons is that there is a lot of action in the last few days - I like our "say nothing attitude" as it shows a little bit of class however it does instill a little bit of the wtf is happening but still exciting all the same regarding the Hughes or MON argument (at the time) I thought that Hughes would have been better for us but MON was a very close second so it was a win or win situation for me
Whilst on Hughes, my prediction is that if QPR come up short after the first half dozen games, he'll be gone.....(first PL manager out of a job)...then up pops old melted face, sprays more money in January and takes QPR to the next level. He's made for them, lots of money, lots of dodgy deals and wide boys everywhere you look!!!!!!!!!!!
Well Paddy Kenny wasn't shy about taking the piss out of Hughes ( and anyone else he had in his contacts at QPR. ) for preferring that numpty Green over him.
