My minds open to change but in the here and now alot of your players for a good year or so have really fallen by the way side. Downing wasnt harsh enough, that was going easy on him
In all seriousness it really is awful isnt it. Would we have any in our sqaud? Would any make our first team?
Honestly, I reckon Reina, Agger, Enrique, Gerrard, Allen, Lucas and Suarez would make our squad. Of those, Reina would get a go if De Gea had a patch of bad form, Agger would stand a good chance of starting if he formed a decent partnership with Vidic, Enrique would probably make the bench, Allen might get a crack at CM, and we'd use Lucas when facing teams with a strong CM. Think we'd use Gerrard better than Liverpool, as we would be able to use him like Scholes and Giggs - sparingly and for impact rather than Liverpool relying on him to drive their midfield every game, so we could probably get another two or three years of good football out of him. SAF would give Suarez the Ronaldo treatment - tell him he doesn't care how flashy he is if he doesn't score at least 15 goals a season. Suarez would then have to either buck his ideas up and make a better contribution, or be shifted out the door.
Lucas, Agger, and Enrique would stroll into your starting 11 - ahead of Carrick, Rio, and Evra - and all you ****ing Mancs know it.
You forgot Suarez ahead of Rooney. Suarez is on a different stratosphere to Rooney in terms of overall skill.
Suarez is one of the worst finishers I have ever seen. He doesn't even create much for someone who is supposedly skillful.
Lucas would get in because our central midfield is appalling. Agger would not get in ahead of Vidic and Ferdinand. Enrique would be second choice to Evra.
Suarez wouldnt get anywhere near, look at our attack and where would he fit in? Lucas..... yeh probably. Agger.... for a year til Smallings at that level. Enrique on the bench as you say, evras a certain starter for SAF. In CM Carrick is 100% playing if hes fit and theres not 4 CB's injured, so only 1 other CM alongside him.
Rooney is miles better. Its not even a debate SKY. Tell me, if you had the chance to swap Rooney for Suarez and you knew nothing of Rooney except his stats....... would you keep a misfiring striker of take one whos consistently banged in goals regardless of where hes played up front.
You're one dumb ****er Berb. Agger and Vidic would be the perfect partnership. Plus - Evra proved last year he's nearly past it. I'd have Enrique over Evra all day long
Can people stop saying our CM is rubbish ffs. Its not amazing but its not rubbish. Too much is made of it.
I would take Agger at the moment to play alongside Vidic as all our centre halves are injured. I just don't see it in Lucas, at all. Joe Allen would be worth a punt, if he played in a three man midfield, and the rest you can keep. That includes half a season Enrique.
And it definitely includes Suarez, who I loathe with every fibre of my being and simply don't rate anyway.
We are supposed to be signing a mexican called hector herrera who is supposed to be a quick passing box to box midfielder. If true he will work brilliantly with Kagawa who likes that sort of quick passing as it works to his strengths.
From a neutral: Reina, Agger, Skrtle (bench), Enrique (bench), Lucas, Allen, Gerrard (bench) and Suarez (bench if Kagawa is better) would get into United's 18 match day squad. Reina Jones Vidic Agger Evra Allen Lucas Valencia Rooney Kagawa/Nani RVP Subs: De Gea, Skrtle, Enrique, Carrick, Gerrard, Nani, Suarez
