In all fairness, both Vardy and Proschwitz will need time to settle and adapt, but changing your style would be easier for Vardy rather than moving from the German League. I agree that the £2.6 million fee may be way over what I would have paid for a consistent goal scorer who is still young and is getting slated for not scoring in his first 2 games...
Then again, football is all about gambles and we'll find out whether Proschwitz turned out to be a good or bad gamble as we nearer the end of the Season. We wasn't going to get anywhere without even trying to sign anyone who at least looked as though they could score and assist more goals.
Big Nick has proven in many Seasons that he can score consistently and when you're desperate for goals, it seems worth gambling a large fee for something that might work. It's not like as though that's half of the Club's bank account drained in that signing though. We do also have wealthy owners but they just don't feel the need to splash cash left right and centre hoping to sign a few good players that will hopefully gel.
