Shelvey looks like he's the only player that actually wants to go and get the ball and do something with it when ever our defence have it. Sterling looks lively, just need to isolate him 1v1 with his full back and let him get on with it. Borini, don't think I've seen him touch the ball yet though. Adam's is actually a rpetty decent dribbling with the ball. All jokes aside, he moves through players and is strong enough to hold them off.
Another pointless performance..Cant see what this lineup is doing for us....Why not have Henderson, Shelvey and one of adam/spearing in mf and an extra forward like Suso.....
See, that is why you leave a man upfront. If the ball get's cleared it means they have to go back to the keeper (like we just did) rather than control it and put it back into the area while everyone is trying to get set again.
Shelvey needs to get more involved,he IS a good player,but is quiet at the mo, he should be lookin to run the show in a game like this.id be tempted to swap him n Adam round to get him more involved
Hope Sterling doesn't get a knock from this game, they're clearly trying to intimidate him and hit him off the ball. Good effort there.
Has Spearing shrunk out of existence altogether? There's nobody in front out our back 4 when they come at us.
One area Sterling does need to improve is his final ball, although that'll come with experience. Glad to see him going on the outside of players on his left foot now. I remember watching him a few times in the U18's a couple of seasons ago and he used to always cut in on his right. Good effort there.
