Seems like he might be offloaded to QPR.

Would that mean the best footballer in the Dawson family would lose the possibility of a testimonial against Spurs.

Having said that, the Dinner Lady v Sparky might be a tasty little side show. Not best buddies at Man U apparently.

Someone needs to explain testimonials to me.

People keep banging on about Andy Dawson needing his 10th year to qualify for a testimonial.

Surely, if a club wanted (and I'm sure this must have happened before) if a player is a huge club legend but only manages 7-9 years, they can still have one?
And, if so, what's the difference between that and an "official" one that they've "qualified" for?

Not really sure what the point of a testimonial is in football these days?

In Rugby League, once a player has 10 years at a club from debut they get a year where they put events on and have a benefit match where they keep profits. The money is usually split between the player and a charity.

In football, it's usually one match with nothing else; does the profit from the match go to the player? To a nominated charity? Or is it just a image/appreciation thing?

A player who's played in the top couple of leagues usually donates all the money to charity, but some lower league players keep theirs.

Apparently the Mackems have joined the race to sign him, If I was him I'd prefer MON
over Hughes and DQPR, plus he's from up that way anyway.

Book Barcelona NOW for Andy Dawsons testimonial and have done with it. His brother Mike can play for us. Job done.
