From his twitter account: darcy blake‏@darcyblake23 Officially a palace player. Can't wait for this fresh start. Loved every minute playing for cardiff. Want to thank every1 who supported me.
I too thought that Kev was really, really bad at times last year, so bad in fact it confirmed to me how little faith MM must have had in Darcy. He did get some chances last season and failed to really inspire, how good a player he'll be if he plays every week we'll find out at Palace. I do think the answer is slightly in the question though. Snapped up by one of the strong relegation canditidates rather than one of the hopefuls. Is our squad a better place with Darcy? Probably. Will we manage fine without him? Almost certainly and definitely if Connelly is the player the r's fans say he is. As for MM, juries out for me on whether he will fully use the squad this year as I thought he had the chance to mix things up last year and didn't at times. He's building a much better squad imo but if he doesn't use it properly this season I don't think he'll need to worry about the season after.
At least he's not as static as Jones was. Unmoving from that 4 - 4 - 2. As for Drunken Darcy. Suffered for his ability to play in many positions. The perfect player to have on the bench and sadly might be playing L1 football next season. See if Coleman still picks him then. Agree that he should have been given a chance as Kev was dire at some points last season.
if thats the case dna then i wish him the best of luck, too good to be stuck on the bench for another season...
Anyone else think we could have got zaha for blake+money? palace would probably rather keep zaha but "you gotta haggle!"
Sad to see him go, but I trust in the manager"s judgement. I think it is worrying that players like Darcy and Earnshaw have been given little time...confidence must be shot!
I can smell it, it's not far away, he must be reading this forum, he is getting closer to scoring a goal....watch this space!
