The issue is with it being so close to the Man U game, but I don't see why we couldn't play a 2nd 11 in that game? Isn't that quite common for Premier League teams to do in the League Cup?

One sensible comment and then two only seeing one side of the paper <laugh> Shame though because tbh i'd like to have seen a lot of the youngsters run out on TV

Well, looks like Stevenage have been screwed out of quite a bit of money (yes, like the charities before someone mentions it, but I don't think they were six figure sums).

That's very annoying, now I won't be able to watch them on TV.

I agree RaWBA about a missed opportunity to see some of the younger element. To make it worse it could also backfire on us both with a more determined Borough side after losing out on tv money.

Unless we play a fairly senior looking team for the game I do believe we have missed a good chance.

I don't really buy the argument about resting players before the united game, how many players will play in both games?

Maybe they don't want the pressure on the kids of being on TV, maybe they don't want other teams getting a free look at them, who knows? Does seem a bit unfair on Stevenage, but I suppose that's life.

Bad decision imo, and not just for the selfish reason of being able to watch it, although i can see the reason behind the rescheduling

That's football, every team is out for themselves and screw everyone else. I include Portsmouth in that.

We will play a mixture of first team and youngsters. Tadanari will probably get another run out. I think Adkins has an organized system of preparation before matches...we all know how interested he is in small details. He is reading the Chimp Paradox which explains how small things can add together to produce a big improvement. The chap who wrote it is responsible for GB cycling so knows what he's talking about. Sorry for Stevenage and sad not to be able to watch it, but I trust Adkins on this.

Football should never be played on a Thursday.

We should be ready for it in Europe next season as there is a small chance we may not make the Champions League.

Nice thought but I would rather worry about this season first.

Dont see why people are complaining, Nigel has got better things to be doing than organising a youth team to play stevenage 3 days before one of the biggest matches of mis managerial career.

Sorry for Stevenage, but only one team matters to us at the moment.
