Who do lfc fans prefer? Or do you care?

For me it has to be Barca.

No royalty connection (I'm anti monarchist in general).
    No Maureen as manager.
    Pretty football.
Catalonia as a underdog region of Spain strikes a rather 'romantic' idea.

Also... we seem to have had a little bit of connection with athletico... so can't support Real.

Barcelona for me. Any team that humiliates Manchester United in two European Cup finals is great in my opinion.

Real. Hate the way everything about Barcelona is hyped up so much. Fans are amazing too.

Neither. Both are horrible clubs who add little to the sport and are destroying an entire nation in football terms.

Real for me. I share alexb's dislike of all the hype that surrounds Barca.

Yet Barcelona have brought some of greatest players of this generation through their academy. Both teams have some of the World's best players and although I sense some sort of indication towards their spending you have to admit they add a awful lot to modern day football, two of the best teams in the world, lets not be so bitter.

ok so this gets slightly complicated.

    1. on a purely non football related approach Barcelona are THE club for me. they have fan ownership, have similar issues with the cpaital club and favoritism etc and have better values.

    2. on a footballing approach i actually perfer real as they play proper team football. I have seen barca peak again and this last season go down hill by indulging one player to the detriment of thier season.. when they really needed messi he couldn't perform for 2 weeks and they lost the league and cl as a result. I think they are totally indulging themselves with the formation and players, no striekr, 6 CMS, 2 CBs, 2 wingers insteand of proper full backs, striekrs and so forth.

i thought at thier best they were the best side ever seen but right nwo they have fallen away from that and just look like they want to play 11men in the midfield passing it about in circles until messi decides to score.

Both clubs are largely responsible for the financial disaster that is La Liga. They are despised by the other 18 clubs and all of the lower league clubs who have little choice but to risk survival in order to compete with these 2 and even then it doesnt get them anywhere.

Valencia and La Caruna were the last 2 clubs to really try it and look at them both. A.Madrid have been trying and they are in some serious trouble.

Theres a huge chance that thanks to Barcelona and Real Madrid La Liga may not even exist in the future.

The clubs have huge debts and make absolutely no money at all, they dont get TV revenues except a few token payments and they have to take huge risks to buy players who they usually sell a year later just to survive.

Now if it were United and Liverpool doing it to the PL then how would people feel? Not very happy and they certainly wouldnt be praising the clubs.

Spain has some great clubs outside the 2 giants and produce some fantastic footballers.

The advantages Barcelona and Real get over other clubs makes it hard to find a way to like them. I prefer A. Madrid anyway and Bibao.

Yeh dipshit. Ones they cannot afford to pay back ( I was meaning the 18 other la liga clubs btw )

In just taxes and this doesnt include other debts the spanish clubs owe something like 700million euros.

La Liga debt is over 3billion euros and 6 clubs are or were as recent as May last year, bankruptcy protection schemes.

The cost of competing with Barcelona and Real Madrid due to their massive favouritism in spain is your existence basically. Find it hard to believe anyone outside their own fanbase likes either club. What use will their great players be when they have nobody to play against?

I'd completely disagree with your second point.

Messi is a fantastic forward who they involve as much as possible, which is natural.

They play two inside forwards - such as Pedro, Sanchez, Villa, Cuenca, Tello, Afellay, Iniesta who are always smart, creative and dangerous.

They have a ridiculously strong attack and a very attacking set up.

Pedro is an extremely dangerous player on form, as are Villa and Sanchez. Messi is their best player but others contribute. For instance, last weekend the scorers were Puyol, Messi (2), Pedro and Villa. Tello assisted twice. Xavi for Puyol. Iniesta for Villa.
