Good news on Spurs, they were the biggest threat for me.

50/50 now us & the Scousers.

Willian is a smashing move by Spurs, as a point.

I'd doubt the Jarvis transfer has any bearing on where Johnson ends up, it's highly unlikely a guy of his talent would entertain a move to WHUFC in their current situation, unless he likes free porn dvd's.

Fully agree Terry, hence why I only mentioned Spurs.

Great signing for West Ham mind, smashing player is Jarvis.

Liverpool have Downing, Borini and have just signed a winger from Hereevenen (spelling) and have distanced themselves from this rumour, personally I'd be astonished if he went there. Biggest nailed on signing since we nearly signed Nzogbia lol

He has been good Mush, can't say that I've seen him produce the kind of football that earned him an England cap though, although I'd put that down to Wolves and not Jarvis. They had a decent squad on paper but they **** the bed by not getting in somebody decent to replace McCarthy - that Terry bloke who took over looked about as inspiring as Avram grant on valium.

Jarvis strength is his delivery Terry, he gets to the line and hangs them on the middle of the 6 yard box or under the bar, really top class crosser.

I think we'll see his best at West Ham, I really rate Diame, and I think he will sit deep and that will mean space down the channels for the wingers.

They'll be interesting to watch this season West Ham, thy'll be WELL clear of the bottom 3 IMO.

As Murray Out said, the scousers have wide players, but with Downing misfiring and Borini looking fairly uninspiring, I reckon they might see Johnson as a bargain at £10m in comparison to their recent buys...If it was a 2 horse race, it'll be a tough one to call, they've got European football, but he's a northern lad (Toon fan amongst a family of Mackems if I'm not mistaken?)

    Aye,

I think local advantage might swing it, Catts is a good pal, and although he's personally a Mag, the impression is that he has a widely Mackem family, and as such fallls into the 'love to see all 3 (well, 2 and a bit for Boro), NE clubs doing well' camp.

Let's remember he was poised to sign for us before going to City, so there's no issue there, we simply couldn't complete with the package City offered, and had to pull out.

Ironically, if we'd signed him then, we'd probs be desperately fending off monster bids from City & Chelsea right now!

We're not signing Willian, according to Villas-Boas.

If Johnson chooses Liverpool over us he deserves to have his career plummet further.

They are a spent force in English football and could well change managers mid season AGAIN this year.

He will play every week here, have a fantastic manager coaching him and be back close to family and friends. Hodgson will take notice of Mon more than Brendan Rogers imo and he could really shine.

At Liverpool he could well be part of their problem not their answer.

He may be lying, of course.
Haven't worked out his line with the press about transfers, yet.

Stop toying with my emotions man.

AJ to Spurs is 'a cracking signing'.

AJ to SAFC is 'a massive statement of intent & marker for progress'.

This deal is potentially mammoth to us, if we can pull it off.
