My prediction for tonights starting eleven: Reina Kelly - Carragher - Agger - Robinson Henderson - Lucas - Adam Shelvey - Carroll - Sterling
I thought Carroll had a knock? Or did he recover in time? Brendan coming out saying he would be crazy to sell Carroll now but isn't crazy what the final week and day of transfers is like?
Why would we turn down £17m from West Ham (which they claimed to have offered) but then accept £12m from Newcastle (again, their claims)...? Also, the comments by Rodgers were regarding a loan deal wasn't they...?
The man has talked so many twists and turns when it comes to Carroll I am just going to wait and see where he will be on September 1........ then shell him out on FIFA a few weeks later.
The thing is, the longer this goes on and the more obvious Rodgers makes it that he does not see Carroll as a major part of his plans, the less money we will get for him. Clubs will now that we want to cash in on the player and will drag their feet to get the best possible deal. On top of that, Carroll clearly didn't want to leave Newcastle and I'm pretty sure that he would love to return to them, that is only going to push the price down too. In reality, there is not a great deal of difference between Liverpool and Newcastle at the moment. And if you consider that Andy is a geordie then it is clear for all to see that he would rather win things with them than us. A bit like Gerrard with Chelsea. I just want two things: 1) the issue resolved one way or the other and 2) to ignore the £35m price tag
I agree but I think it depends on the side he picks. If it is a complete fringe team then the players will be down beat knowing they are involved with a lesser chance to impress because of the players around them. A mixture would be best, I have tried to do that with the team I selected above
