Could be a big day on the transfer front. Hope we are not disappointed. If we get the players being touted what will it do to Saturdays crowd? Full house? Let's hope so.

The club are making all the right noises, which is pleasing. Lets hope today is successful.

If we get Defoe, Johnson and Olssen I'll be as happy as a pig in Newcastle.

Yeah Bonny, and after all that waiting and worrying by us lot, our club will finally, I believe, begin to reveal their statement of intent, starting today.

Powder dry, cards as close to their chests as they posibly could - managemeent will now, roll out their bearing of fruit this coming week.

because there are no rumours on anyone and everything will be tied up with fletcher.

However ill love to be proved wrong and im 100% certain there will be a couple of more coming in next week.
90% 1 of them will be Johnson. but i was a 100% he was coming last time
I think Olsen is ours and i think Campbell Richardson and Whickam will be out even if on loan

On the contrary (opinion wise) there have been rumours almost every day for the entire window - maybe today is the opposite i.e. no rumours = signings?????? (hope rather than expectation)

I never doubted at any point that Short/Mon would provide the goods.

I'm surprised so many fans did but thankfully we are all on the same wavelength now and in the next few days we will see a real Mon team come together.

    Defender deal hits snag
    Sunderland, 11:06, August 23, 2012
Sunderland are ready to try and gazump QPR's move for Tottenham defender Michael Dawson, but R's boss Mark Hughes remains favourite.

The centre half had been close to agreeing a move across London after the two sides agreed a fee that could rise to £10m, but the deal apparently hit a snag on Wednesday night giving other interested parties and opportunity to step in.
Sunderland and Stoke are two clubs that would like to move for Dawson, but its is unlikely that they will be able to match the sort of wages that Hughes will be able to offer at Loftus Road and a deal is still expected to go through before the weekend.
Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas axed Dawson from his match-day squad ahead of Saturday's loss to Newcastle, casting huge doubt over the England internationals future at White Hart Lane and triggering the transfer.
