Did you know that Newcastle are in the Europa League too and it is possible to twist your comment into meaning them?
I think you can say the same for us considering Gerrard, Suarez, Johnson and Skrtel have been left at home and it looks like quite a few fringe players are going to get a run out too. As for fourth place, you guys have about as much chance as us. However, if we aren't going to get top four (which I sincerely doubt), I hope you guys do despite Mike ****ing Ashley being the owner
It will all be down to two things... the fitness of our best players and not falling apart once every few games. We were thumped by far too many rubbish teams last season.
Other than Adam, I can't complain. Think Lucas could do with some more game time though, Shelvey should be one of the first names on the team sheet.
Yeah, we beat you 3-1... Seriously, I don't think you have the squad for top four. There is no way you can play a whole season for your strongest eleven and, IMO, you can judge how good a club is by looking at their supposed second string
Oh yeah.. Everyone knows we need to add to the squad except Mike Ashley. We have the African Cup to look forward to lol where we lose Tiote, Ba and Cisse for a whole month :S
I love how even some of the better teams in the EPL still keep absolute **** in their squads!! lol Man Utd haver been nurturing crap for years too!
Come on, Ben. There are plenty of other threads for you to practise your wummery. Let's keep the match thread clean,eh? There's a good man.
Would be good if the mods could manage the thread well when it gets near to game time and during the match. A lot of people, including myself, like to read the updates and see how the game is going. Every match thread, have to just scroll through other fans writing **** and have no idea how the match is.
Brendan Rodgers has confirmed Raheem Sterling is in contention to make his first competitive start for Liverpool in tonight's Europa League clash with Hearts at Tynecastle. The 17-year-old has notched up four substitute appearances for the Reds' senior side and impressed during the pre-season schedule. Rodgers admitted: "There's a big possibility that Raheem will start. For a kid who is 17 years of age, he has been very good. "Raheem is a player who has impressed me over the course of pre-season. He has got better and better every day. "He understands his responsibility in the team and his team ethic is good. Plus when he gets the ball his quality has been excellent. "Something I want to do over the years here is get young players with talent and personality into the group and into the team. He is certainly one who has shown up well."
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19347569 Hearts boss John McGlynn has urged his players to show belief in Thursday's Europa League play-off against Liverpool. Tottenham hammered Hearts 5-0 at Tynecastle at the same stage of the competition last season. "It was a bit of an anti-climax last year; all the hype and anticipation and then it was over very quickly," McGlynn told BBC Scotland. "We want to ensure the tie's alive going into the second leg." McGlynn is keen to avoid a repeat performance when Brendan Rodgers' side visit Edinburgh. "You're looking to play at your absolute best and get a bit of luck along the way," said McGlynn. Liverpool beat Belarussians Gomel 4-0 on aggregate in the previous round but lost their opening Premier League match to West Brom on Saturday. Manager Rodgers was appointed during the summer and McGlynn, who became Hearts boss during the close season, hopes that can work to the Tynecastle side's advantage. "They are probably still in transition with the new manager coming in and trying to get his way of playing across to the players," said McGlynn.
