Putting to one side that he seems rather frustrated with all the stick he is getting, he interestingly tweeted that our wage bill is lower this year than it was last year. HOW MUCH WERE WE PAYING THE LIKES OF ROWAN VINE?! Seriously?! He must have been the most well paid golfer in the whole world last year...
We have released/sold more players than we've signed. But that our wage bill is lower than last year I highly doubt.
I wish some of these morans would stop 'tweeting' TF (expect our own Norty of course). thats the problem with this open to all media, you really get some muppets on it. In my book TF is sound as a pound and wants the best for QPR. He put his money where his mouth is and has tried to be open with the fans, which some abuse. How many other owners do what he has done? =none. Sometimes i really hate things like Twitter and other media outlets as it cause more problems than its worth. Thing is, where would we be without TF/Amit/Mittals? I know and it's a place we don't want to visit again? So i wish these 'donuts' would lay off TF because without him they would be the first to moan.
Hope he heard his name being chanted by thousands of supporters at LR last Saturday. TF is the epicentre of this project - may be Mittal cash, but Tony is the one creating a new type of football club, the first ever to really understand marketing as the driver, developing a family of complementary brands. Utd, Barca etc market based on tradition and do it very well, but we will be a completely new beast. The press haven't got a hope in hell of understanding, they are old thinkers. I love it but many won't when the full extent becomes clear. Ask DT, he gets it.
We have cut a lot of high earners , Ageymang , Vine , Rowlands, Cook, ****tu ( all big earners that just did not play ). Then the likes of Kenny, Connolly, Gabbidon, Hall, Helgusson. All seasoned pro's so decent earners. Then if they have got rid of Smith, DJ , Betty in the next few days I could see a serious amount of wages have in fact been cut.
Personally, I reckon TF is the best thing to happen to the club. He seems to have a genuine interest in the team and the fans, the complete opposite from the two stooges we had before. Yes, they saved us but not because they wanted to help QPR .............. they were just looking for a return on their money. Keep it going Tonz !
TF is a business man. A man who knows how to create a brand. He knows very little about football, he knows very little about stadia, etc, etc. That is why he has employed other people to take the lead in those areas. Just look at the non-playing staff. There are some VERY good people employed. Whether MH does the business with the playing staff remains to be seen, but you won't find Tony sending messages down to the touchline to bring on certain players. (Actually maybe he does and that is why SWP came on for Hill on Saturday!)
I don't believe that for one minute I expect other fans a are posing as R's fans. However if that is the case they should have their season tickets taken away and banned for life IMHO
Yep, I think they are fans of other clubs who wish they had someone like TF at their club. Doubt any Leeds fans though as they are already a "MASSIVE" club.
Yep I agree with this 100%. Seriously imagine the pay rise the players would have got from gaining promotion with people like palidini doing the contracts lol thu would have just been dangling the carrot in front of them.
Think about how stupid the average person is, then think that 50% of people are more stupid than that. It really doesnt surprise me. We have our own share of morons just like every other team, most of them in Q block.
Like Rowlands getting £300k bonus for doing sweet FA. I think they must have included Paddys pie tab in that too.
I have a lot of time for TF unlike for that muppet MH. However there are two things that concern me: firstly we desparately need a new stadium to make the business profitable, if we fail in this our financial future remains shaky to say the least and how long TF would be willing to subsidise things remains to be seen. Secondly while I don't follow Formula 1 I can't help noticing TF's cars still so slow after a good few years. Is it lack of investment, poor planning or something else?
Can't agree more about the stadium - that is the key to our future (along with the marketing) and will make us into a sustainable entity. F1 is a crazy sport with rule changes every year and radical redevelopments that make the previous year's car into a turd with wheels. There is a similarity though (leading on from Eamon's post) - get the right people in (designers/drivers) and get the business sorted (the engine deals) then it's all there but I think it's more about contacts than football is.
It takes a long time to close the gap but they are doing it every year and are the best of the newest teams. A bit like us, theres no way we can compete with the manchester clubs so we have to avoid relegation, try for midtable, then top half and then Europe.
