TF on Talksport

Some bits from interview:

They mentioned about new signing in the next 48Hrs and TF said "lots of things going on and nothing has been sorted"
Ask lastest on Dawson TF said 'we won't do anyting stupid and want a proper deal', (meaning we won't ruin club for his demands).
Then that idiot Brazil asked if it was like running a F1 Team

He said he remains Optimistic."In it for the long term" "we have a good squad/manager" "we have some weaknesses in areas"

He said he cautioned everyone because we had a new squad about expectations and it takes time to gel and were undone by Swans.
It will take us five years to get where we want to be.

On wages he said "odd in the Prem and people try and exploit certain situations". "wages are tough in the Prem"

Then asked about Dawson again and said we are discussions with Dawson and people out there think we are throwing money at it /panic buying and we are not. "but i got to run a sensible business".
"We are not panic buying" "it's all done in a calm sensible way".

Then Brazil cut him off in sentence again. (muppet)

He then said "its a long race not a sprint" and "Nothing confirmed with Joey Barton"

That Alan Brazil is a complete muppet. Asking dumb questions and 'butting in'. It's like he is talking to a five year old.

 

Brazil talks bollox at the best of times, he said this morning Chelsea's third goal was right to stand because the Reading defence moved out to play Torres offside, he said defenders should defend rather than take the easy offside option. Typical ex-striker who didn't have the nous to outplay the backline...

Thanks Ellers, I can't bring myself to listen to Talksport ever, even when TF is on. Sounds like he was his usual calming self.

 

Yes he said we were a Mo Farah. That was good

 

Tony is a cleaver PR guy and knows how to say the right things.
However
During that interview he was sending out signals to us fans.
He won’t ruin the club over some player’s demands. (I think that’s Dawson he is talking about)?
Don’t panic we are in safe hands and don’t believe everything in the press regarding ‘Panic buying’, ‘money’.
Let’s not run before we can walk. Many of us, even me, have been over confident and forget we finished fourth from bottom last season.
As he says ‘it’s not a sprint’. We need to trust MH and not panic if we lose, give the team time to gel.

We are lucky to have TF/Amit/Mittals and we should trust them. We are miles away from the days of Tango & Cash

 

Slow but steady progress. I know last Saturday frustrated everybody but we need to look at our situation after about 10/12 games, not after one.

 

I don't subscribe to some people's thoughts that we are panic buying. Most of these negotiations will have been going on for several weeks from the point of first contact.

Dawson is probably slightly different as he only really made himself a target after AVB finally left him out of the squad last Saturday and the player spoke out.

We have signed quite a few (understatement) players this summer already. It just so happens that it has taken longer for the defenders to materialize than others.

If we had signed a new central defender at the beginning of the window it would probably have been somebody like Bassong. Frankly I don't think that signing early would have been the best move .. would it?

Spot on Eamon - defence was the one area we hadn't improved, so centre backs were always going to come in. Its just the timing makes it look bad.

 

According to bbc, TF says our wages are down on last season because we lost 15 players and we've spent £1.5m net....so no problem whatsoever.
