I say start placing those pound coins of yours on the people in Q2 and hope for a safety car lol.

Edit: Lets just say the odds are around the 300-1000/1 mark

Lewis drove a perfect race all weekend, but I can't help feeling that it was more Vettels bad luck that lost it, no radio to change strategy, a broken KERS (when did it break? he didn't look happy at the start, and he got away very slowly, was it already malfunctioning at the start?) don't help, gonna be interesting to see who does what at Turkey, if they have their new KERS fitted and in full working order and the others have their 'flexi' wings.

I don't think McLaren know how to create a flexi wing like Red Bull's because you don't see them stop complaining about it. If they couldn't copy it last season what makes this season any different?

It's Newey's brain vs McLaren research crew, round 2. DING DING!

Silver: McLaren have something better than a flexible wing, its called the Lewis Hamilton effect.

It's clear that Hamilton outstripped everyone last weekend, including his team mate, not just on racecraft but also on strategy. It gives me hope that the best is yet to come from him.

Just saying, Hamilton was poor in Malaysia but then brilliant in China. One good race doesn't make his "effect" better than a flexible wing.

    genjirrumatio, welcome to the forum!

Cheers and that. I wouldn't say I'm an out-and-out Hamilton fan but I do like to see him nailing it. More to the point, I believe in the title of this thread: I think he went a step further last weekend.

Yes. It's easy to agree with this. What a stunning drive. Webber was the other clear outstanding driver of the day but I believe the Red Bull car still has a significant advantage in outright speed which is likely to see Vettel take a second consecutive title, unless the McLaren/Hamilton/Button combination can catch up.

Further to my last, I do not see Ferrari or Mercedes being able to claw back the deficit to Red Bull, which is why I only mentioned McLaren.

OK, well I am an unashamed Hamilton fan, maybe at my age I should not exhibit such ethusiasm for one driver, but the guy has it all, I have never seen such a natural ability since Clarke.

No... I don't know what happened to Ferrari. They looked so good in testing. I don't think it's down to Red Bull sandbagging a bit and McLaren doing whatever they were doing with their supposedly rubbish package. I wonder if Ferrari took testing and stood still for a couple of weeks, thinking they had a decent car for the flyaway races, and maybe McLaren (apart from refitting a standard floor and exhaust) and Red Bull brought new developments.

Drive-wise I think Webber put in a seriously great performance on the Sunday, but I think Hamilton really did a job from Saturday onwards, and it wasn't just a driving job. He thought his way through the whole weekend. In contrast we saw Button make a vain attempt at pole on Saturday and (on Button and Vettel's aborted second runs) waste (or use) a second set of options, and then on Sunday Button threw away the lead in the pits and then failed to manage his tyres so he was a sitting duck for Webber towards the end.

I think Button floundered while Hamilton stayed cool worked things out in his head.

I do see Mercedes taking 3rd in the contructors title, all thanks to Nico.

I reckon europe will be boring except Spa and Monza all because of my man in the picture there will win them all with the speed of his dominant quali/race pace with the RB7 :p If he nails 6-8 wins this year it's pritty much game over for anybody unless they keep getting 2nd's which I doubt because of the other 4-5 drivers trying to keep up.

It was nice of Lewis winning China to make things look "equal" but lets be realistic, Lewis screws up he goes below 5th, if vettel screws up he still gets 2nd, the cars are in different leagues atm. McLaren can try to reduce the gap, but this is Adrian Newey who increased the gap when it got to europe last year. This time vettel is 1 year older and is the world champion, he won't let up because of this blip on one race.

    @ErnieBecclestone
You might have the Lewis effect but vettel has the "number 1 finger effect" lol :)
