    I've never known a manager so tactically inept and yet so lucky as Roberto De Matteo. He blundered his way through the CL, and it looks like his fortune is continuing into the new season.
    One goal offside tonight, and another scored by a player (Ivanovic) who was given a straight red in the Charity Shield. Why is there no ban attached to it? If Joey Barton did in the Charity Shield what he did against City in the league, would it simply be wiped clean like Ivanovic's?

    Dorian was a she played by Lesley Joseph. She was the ''Cheryl Cole of the 90s'' aka a slag.

    Dorian Gray was in Birds of a feather. She was Sharon and Traceys slutty neighbour. She opened her legs faster than the automatic doors at tesco. In other words she was the 90s version of Cheryl Cole..a slag.

    No, that's Dorien Green. There's absolutely no link whatsoever.
    Swarbs' point was that Dorian Gray remained young while his painting grew old and bore the weight of his sins. I was just reminding him that Dorian dies in the final scene of the novel, so in fact does not live forever.

    A comedy sounds better than a stuffy 19th century novel with loads of ''jolly goods'' and ''rathers''. In other words snob speak. Here is a question, why does the Queen refer to herself as ''one'' One would like to do this, One would like to do that?

    I'd imagine UIR is the sort of guy who'd get a test graded, be unhappy with his score, and then go and see the examiner to explain in detail why the examiner is wrong and why he should've got full marks.

    Ah, but when he dies the painting reverts to pristine condition and lives on, despite Gray slashing it with a knife. So you could say Gray never really dies, as he has become bound up in the painting.

    I thought we were so laden with £18 billion of debt we couldn't afford to buy anything? <whistle>
