    You layed a 9/2 shot in a 20 runner race <applause>

What did you get paid on that 20p in the pound? So a 5/1 on shot then?

1 point at risk in a 9/2 lay pays 0.22 as in someone has to stake 0.22pt with you to win 1pt. You return 0.22point profit

The same as placing a 1point bet on a 1/5 shot, if you bet 1 point you return 0.2pt profit

    Correct me if am wrong

11/8 layed for a horse that finished 11th never in the race, not the worst lay.

<laugh> fortunate it didnt run into 7th <rofl>

You know the score stick, the shrewdies wait for the fenster lay before getting involved at these big meetings.

Tomorrows lay involves a high profile animal and I very much expect it to lose.

look out for it before you get involved ;)

You've hit the nail on the head, Stick, Edd The Open Fenster just does not seem to understand this. The greatest fun in racing is to work something out for yourself (which, admittedly, I rarely achieve nowadays!) and see it win. Still, he is amusing in a strange kind of way.

(R's dipping into piggybank for defenders, I see. No reason to panic yet, but that was an awful start. Believe you did mention some time ago the need for a class central defender above anything else?).
