If you told me we would have signed the likes of Carvalho, Dawson, Park, Boswinga only 24 months ago I'd have been near hysterical and I am to some extent.

Of course this means that the quality of footballers playing at Loftus Road is now arguably higher than ever but to me the club won't feel like my own until at least January.

For 3,4 maybe even 5 seasons now we've done huge amounts of business and although it's exciting it's hard to really form the same bond with the players that we had with the likes of Cook, Rowlands, Ainsworth etc

I mean look at Anton Ferdinand. He's been here a single year and is one of our longest serving players.

Derry, Hill and Mackie. As much as we love them have only been at the club two seasons!

Im not moaning by any means. Would I rather return to the clowns or of the days of collection buckets outside the turnstiles? Of course I wouldn't.

My point is that although Im enjoying this road to being an established Premier League club immensley. I can't wait for the day when we have players turning out for our club who will be remembered and WANT to be remembered as a Rangers man.

Completely understandable sentiments Scotland, but get used to it mate. We are assembling a squad to achieve a more than comfortable level of safety this season. I expect to see massive turnover again next summer as we improve the quality and probably reduce the age a bit. At the moment Hoilett and Faurlin are the only players I would be confident in being around in the 14-15 season.

    Oops and Diakite.

They have left me pretty empty as well, but for different reasons. Hoillet and Diakite are the only 2 I'm very happy with.

Very much my thoughts, still unsure what to feel about this whole global brand/tourism thing and with big signings etc cant help but feel we are becoming like those plastic buying-success clubs i've always hated, i guess it is good for the club but things are always more satisfying/feel better when you feel your club has earned them

Ever since the bosman hearing and money grabbing agents, players just don't hang around for long. It's a shame but it's the way of football now.

Christ its cutting in earlier than i thought ... anti depressants Nurse!!!

I started ranted about what was going to happen after the penny dropped with me after NW left.

"The corporate machine is here", Global brands and I was pretty much ignored.

Keep the DVD on our promotion as it will become a classic ... this thing is motoring but i don't see a crash and burn... is that good?

Do we few average 14,000 really think that we would prefer LR watching us tread water at best in the championship?

its kicking off so shape up or ship out. Seriously does everyone think i am mad by saying we will be competing with the big guns within 5 years? . Our club was never going to be the same and when we are all sitting in a state of the art 45,000 stadium near wormwood scrubs watching replays on a screen half the size of LR will it of sunk in? ... we won't know as we will all be addicted to the new QPR ... who knows by then we maybe playing in gold and red singa shirts and be known as the Nine-tailed Foxes

Trouble is buying all the old gits means they will be gone in a couple of years and the process will begin again.

Another good reason to buy younger players, they will be around longer leading to a stable team.

I thought about this tonight over a supper of bbq'd piri piri chicken and a courgette & raddichio salad

On reflection I've decided to throw myself into this madcap journey we seen to have started. I have no control to change it so I'm going with the flow

I'm not sure you understand the consequences of all this DT! One day we might end up buying world class players for £20-£30million, and have to sit there week in week out, watching them dazzle with their skills!! having to buy plane tickets and accommodation for champions league games!!! wasting a sunday standing around in heat waiting for the players to arrive in their open top bus parading the premier league, champions league and world club trophies!!!! Is that really what you want to see happen to our poor little club you selfish man??? :emoticon-0110-tongu

Shall we call it a period of transition? We can sit back and wait for the fruits of our spanking new academy embark on long and prosperous careers at the New Loft.

I'm as sentimental as the next guy so understand the mixed feelings.

Remember the past with a tear in the eye and raised glass but look to the future with a big grin on your face - that's what I always say (well at least for the last 2 minutes).

Thursday Dave? Fritto misto sounds ideal with a mixed green salad with pear walnuts and Gorgonzola
