Had to get straight into the sack last night after the game as I was travelling very early this morning so not had a chance to post any views yet but done plenty of reflection. On the whole it was one of our better days. Great game of football to watch, super atmosphere and further evidence that we've got our Charlton back. Particularly pleasing for me were the performances of Morro, Hamer and BWP. I've not been slow to criticise the latter two in the past but they were both simply brilliant last night.

My thoughts after a little reflection are though that if we play the way we played in the second half we will collect some real drubbings this year. We could easily have lost five goals. That was partly due to the quality of Leicester who I enjoyed watching and were a cut above anything we saw last season. I'll reserve judgement till after Saturday as to whether that is typical of what we might get this season or whether Leicester are as good as I think they are. Great though kermit and bWP were, the consequence of playing it long to them is that it comes straight back at you if, unlike last year, you are up against better opposition. our midfield could not be faulted for effort but I retain real reservations about Stephens and worry that Jacko may not have the pace for this league. Unfair to judge on the strength of five or ten minute appearances in a difficult game but only Cook of our subs did anything to suggest that they will add anything. Kerkar could well become an object of derision in the clarke mould. Hope I'm wrong.

All in all though a fabulous evening. Thought the crowd might have been slightly better but it's august and boy was it noisy. Excited by Fuller too.

Excuse typos. In a rush and on iPhone.

We can't question Jackson after last night - I thought he played well on Saturday. Just a bad night at the office.

Crowd at Blackburn tonight - 13,500.

    Good grief.

I know they've got some 'issues' up there, but that is just tiny.

There's something wrong with that video ForEver.

I agreed with Claridge a couple of times, and they seemed to talk too much about Charlton. More than on usual shows. I reckon Nigel from Surrey is right though <laugh>

Brilliant, but I was sure CP was going to leap back onscreen after walking off at the end.

Was a decent video until it got up to the JA bit, it then became hilarious.

It's rough being a Blackburn Rovers fan right now.

Nobody really knows why the Venkys took over the club, and what their motivation is with an English football team.

There are conspiracy theories that they might be asset strippers, selling off their best players, trousering TV money and the like. The wage bill at Rovers has never been that big, when John Williams was CEO he ran a very tight ship.

Sadly Jack Walkers children didn't seem to have much of an interest in the club, and didn't particularly care who they sold it to.

Situations like this make me think fondly of Richard Murray and co., who sold our club to good honest people with sound football and business brains.
