Interesting but not so illuminating I guess.. we all knew he had attitude problems. What is interesting though is that the club sold him rather than him actually leaving.
Song is a strange one, he was one of our best players, but he also often put in lazy performances, I'd say Song was pretty much like Clichy, though a little bit more consistent than Clichy, he's one of those players that's very good, but still has a lot of flaws, and is a liability at times. I remember in our last game against West Brom, Song gave the ball away so many times in the second half of the game, when we needed to hang onto our lead, he was clearly so nervous near the end of the game. He was one of our senior players, so you'd expect him, our anchorman, to show composure and keep things together, yet he was a major liability in that game. That's another big big problem I saw in Song's game, that mental fragility, which has been one of the main things that's costed Arsenal in the past seasons, when the going gets tough, the players just start falling apart.
Not technically a transfer rumour but Eduardo made comments on Arsenal and sounds like he would love to come back lol http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19344989 Would you take him back? I'd rather him than park or Chamakh on the bench! Maybe a cheeky bid for Eduardo would plug the back-up striker spot?
I'd rather neither... We might not even be able to get rid of 2 out of Chamakh, Bendtner, Park... so adding another player way past his best (or potential best) is not something we should risk.
Guillem Balague said about an hour ago, that Sahin was definitely going to Arsenal on a loan only move. But then he also said that Song could replace Xavi in some games !!!!! WTF?
Thank **** for that. Darren Dein was great for players like Henry, Vieira etc, but his influence on our players since Dein senior was chucked out has been catastrophic.
I reckon the **** is working for his dad. He's trying to **** the club up so daddy and the Russian **** can move in
He's not Russian. He's from Uzbekistan. And whats wrong with David Dein returning? Considering he's the only person Wenger listens to, it would a good move for us.
I'd like to see Dein back on the board at Arsenal, but I would hate for it to happen in an underhand way that screwed the club and saw Usmanov move in.
I'd like to see Usmanov take over. Investment wins championships, Citeh and Chelsea have proved that, we may be financial wizards, but we don't win things any more.
I don't give a **** if he's a Lithuanian.I don't want him or that ****ing spiv Dein anywhere near Arsenal Football Club
I think he should be invited on to the board. It's unusual for a major shareholder not to be. It would be better to have him close to hand, rather than causing unrest from the sidelines. But I would not want to see the club go down the sugar daddy route.
All through our history we've had periods of success followed by quiet periods. In my lifetime i've known a few of these less succesful periods.I suspose it goes with the territory of being a football fan
When you put it that way, actually, this current quiet period isn't too bad. I'm too young to remember the older days, but from everything i've read or been told, we lacked the stability we have now. We could win the league 1 season, finish 12th the next.
I remember waiting 17 years to win the league between 71 & 89 and going 8 years without winning a trophy between 71 & 79 and between 79 & 87.
I started going to watch Arsenal in the mid 80's and we were very average. It wasn't until Graham came along that we started to win things, but even then the media used to slate us as boring boring Arsenal. It wasn't until Wenger came along that Arsenal were truly revolutionised. We set the standard for the modern premier league, and it was Wenger who brought the game into the modern age. Before he came along it was common for players to have a *** at half time and go straight down the pub after. The influence he has had on our club and the game as a whole cannot be understated. I think he deserves a lot more respect that he's shown from some fans. They seem to want the moon on a stick and are quick to slate the manager, club, owners etc at the first sniff of trouble. What they don't realise is that it is because of Wenger, not despite him, that we have been in the top 4 consistenly, whilst those around us have been throwing obscene amounts of money around.
on the other thread you write "I'm paranoid that Kroenke is going to do to us what the glazers did to ManUre. Yes, they win, but financiallly they're a mess.", and now this? What the freck do you actually want? You think running it like a proper business is riskier than depending on a mad dictator type?
