Last night the Celtic team showed everyone in Scotland that with Rangers joining the disappeared Celtic are likely
to be a force in Scotland as well as Europe. True individual defenders made avoidable mistakes but when they did
they only proved how right Neil Lennon was to stick his guns and eventually sign big Forster on a long time deal.
All away games in Europe are difficult and you only have to look at Celtic's record this century to see that Celtic
have found it difficult on the road in Europe. Despite the nerve wrecking mistakes in the first half hour Celtic continued
to play the ball around and when Scot Brown who was proving very effective at getting forward was switched to a more
defensive midfield role, our back four got more assured and settled down. Celtic passed the ball in tight areas, creating
space and became more and more dominant. The Swedes became more desperate and less and less likely to score. In
fact throughout the 90 mins it really was only when Celtic defenders presented the chances, that they looked like scoring
In the last half hour it really was only a matter of how many Celtic would score and another 3 or 4 wouldn't have been a
    surprise.
I would think that as I said before if Celtic had cut out their really stupid mistakes, we would have had a very good team
performance. Special praise to big Forster, but that is no surprise, two seasons of record clean sheets means he has been
doing a good job since he came. The nonsense of bad clearances is just that nonsense. Every keeper will fluff a clearance
once or twice a season, and usually gets away with it and it is forgotten.
The best thing about last night was our back four made 3 or 4 howlers and we got away with it. Last season, especially in
Europe if we made a howler we conceded a goal.
Brown was immense, and probably only half fit. Izzy had probably his best game defensively since he came, especially 2nd
half. Commons is our most impressive attacking player this season and had a terrific game last night. Sammy is more than
valuable and can and did last night create and score a goal out of very little. Bringing on Forrest was a great move, he had
too much pace for them. I thought Hooper did well in an unfamiliar role, and worked hard. I am a wee bit worried about
Kayal, again seems to be injury prone and seems to have low pain threshold, I think he wasn't providing the proper cover for
the back four in the first half. I don't think he had the hang of what Lennon wanted. No doubt we will see him on a lot better days

broony was poor - he would admit to that himself - didnt look fit - and his role didnt change during the game - he started in the middle and ended in the middle

izzy was, at times, a bombscare

it was a great result - but dont pretend that the performance was great

    you

    know

    nothing

    football

The Celtic Way finally died last night after two decades of negativity.

    All hail hail anti-football.

Simple I think you know very little but because last night you were involved in a little gay banter, you may have forgotten
in your excitement of possibly scoring. Of course you were right, Scot Brown started in the centre and finished in the centre.
However in your "gay" thinking you probably missed that at the outset he was playing as the more attacking centre midfield
with Kayal supposed to be covering back four with Ledley. Obviously that wasn't working and Scot took up the more defensive
role and Kayal was urged to get forward. If that was Izzy as a bomb scare especially in the second half, I think it is obvious in
your sheltered life with mum you were never in a bomb scare. Izzy defended very well and robbed his man continuously in the
second half. Whether it was a great performance or not, apart from the defensive howlers is a matter of a person's opinion.
I will trust mine and you can trust your gay flirt, as long as your mother doesn't know.
For a youngster, only on this forum a few months you do post some shoite but sure you are better at that than your other
    pastimes.

Broony's passing last night was dire (the whole team's passing has been poor for a few games now) and Ledley seemed to be covering for him in midfield leaving gaps that the Swedes were exploiting too easily. If it wasn't for Forster and their poor finishing it could've been a lot worse but having said that, if our finishing was more clinical it could've been a lot better also. We were poor but managed to get a decent result.

of course in football terms ou are a muppet

broony did not switch with kayal at any point - suggesting this shows your lack of understanding of the game

broony's passing was - as inquirer has pointed out - was poor. all night long (all night <musicalnote>)

you are right - i have never "been in a bomb scare" - curse me and my sheltered life <grr>

and izzy only got the better of his man in the last 15 minutes - if you dont know this, or are too messed up to admit it - that is your lookout

    get well soon :)

    "Brown was immense" <doh>

Brown was invisible for the most part, I would say he's not even 50% fit, he was very very poor. Most of the side were, no one could even hit a short pass.

Kayal was awful but apparently he was injured too, as was Ledley I suspect.

We simply cannot afford to have a midfield with 3 semi fit players, it's suicide. I would taher have seen Chuck in Midfiled from start and Wilson at the back with Broon or Kayal on the bench.

One of our worst performances away for a while but our best results in a while. It should be filed away as one of those games.

Helsingborgs were quite average, if we play at 75% of our capabilities at Parkhead and not so many obviously injured players we should beat them comfortably.

Dev ,the players respect Brown just him being there gets the best out of our better players Samaras / commons .With Victor suspended and Ki offski we had to play unfit players in the midfield. Where is praise for Lennon changing tactics to get Forrest on and gets width and pace to the team ???
