Considering Blackburn are a lot of people's favourites to win the league there's a good chance we could lose tonight.

So if that happens instead of spreading knee-jerk, angry, depressing, blaming threads all over the board here's an isolation thread where we can get it all off our chests and get over it.
If the worst happens it will be easy to forget that at this moment everything looks very positive and we're all up-beat.

I think we'll get a result tonight, but if we don't it's not a big deal at this stage of the season.

    <laugh> I expected that.
To be honest I am very optimistic, but we also need to manage our expectations.
Like most football supporters I go from absolute expectation of winning to absolute depression if we lose, so I just think it's helpful to be realistic.

I dont buy into Blackburn Rovers being anything other than a club in a mess both on and off the pitch. Looking at the Blackburn team its the worst they have had in years,, imo. If we are anywhere near our best then we shall get a result.

So positive from me. If we lose then onwards and positive to Charlton on saturday.

I remember beating Swansea on our first game back in the NPC, we went to Millwall confident of beating them with ease and there was a lot of arrogance shown by Hull fans on the old 606 winding up their fans.

We all know what happened next...

I expect a tough game tonight against a team that is man for man better than us, our manager is supoerior though so it could go either way. Like last season though i think any chance of us getting anything will be dependant on our defence being it's usual reliable self, though with HDM suggesting Macca may make an appearance that may not be true. I'm not confident in our ability to score more than 1 goal, but i am confident their defence is managed horribly and can concede any number of goals despite having Robinson in goal.

For me this is impssible to call, but i'm optimistic our team will be organised and hard to break down. Hopefully we can sneak a win but i'd be happy with a draw (unless it's a last minute equaliser or something, such is football)

I think 1-1. I might have said that about Brighton too I can't remember. They have good players we have good players, so it will be close.

I also don't think they will win the league. In fact I don't think they will make playoffs.

I reckon if we do win kean will be gone.

Be fair though, that game @ Millwall we had both Gardner and Zayette as centre backs. I was happy with 4-0 in the end. It could have been far far worse that day.

At least we have a defence now. 2012 is much better now than 2010. <ok>

hindsight's a wonderful thing. There wasn't a single Hull fan on old 606 who thought we wouldn't win that game and a lot of fans (myself included) were confident that Gardner and Zayatte would be comfortable at this level.

I wasn't. Zayette was never the same after Turner left and Gardner just gave up. Nigel Pearson should have seen that problem. But its history now.

Barring Ipswich, we must be the only board that has a thread to moan about losing a match before we've even kicked off

It will be hard for us to get all 3 points, I can see us getting 1 point though.

I think we'll win. Hostile home crowd against the manager. Blackburn are only expecting 12k home fans? I predict a City win, Kean to get sacked in the morning!

It's supposed to be for moaning if we lose, not before we play.

I understand that Craig, but at least wait to see whether we lose before making a thread

Read my OP again mate. The intention is to have one thread ready in case we lose so 5 to 10 seperate moaning threads don't spring up after the event.

If people want to moan, they'll do it all over the place, they won't restrict it to a specific moaning thread.

I think a draw would be a great result tonight as it always is away from home. If we keep Blackburn quiet early it won't take long for the crowd to get on their backs then we can maybe get a sneaky 1-0 win. Problems at the club or not they have a decent squad but so do we and there's no point going there fearing them.

Have we lost already, must be the first time that happened before kick-off! I'm actually a lot more positive than I was a few weeks ago given that Roko is staying and is not (fingers crossed) going to be consigned to the wing. With a player like him in the side you always have a chance. No reason why we can't get a draw in this game, I would bench the German for the match so he can acclimatise a bit though I don't think that will happen unfortunately.
