yeah he did actually! absolute belter. like i say, he can get forward, but he can't defend, at all! the barca game was a massive team effort, as was all their cup run, but that doesn't make him a good player - he's as bad a full back as you'll see defensively in the top flight. if you don't want to believe me i don't care! i'll let his displays on the pitch do the talking... lets see how long it takes the r's fans to start complaining about him. edit. just realised i was talking to guru! stop sneaking around like that!! i thought i was responding to the rangers fan
Supers you'll have to stop the lunchtime drinking mate its addled your brain. I guess we'll see how he gets on if picked to play at the weekend, although I can't accept your assertion that 'he's as bad a full back as you'll see defensively in the top flight'
So are you saying supers, that if you was norwich manager and his agent said to you he would sign on for free and get paid within your wage structure that you would turn him down?
Slight exaggeration to call him one of the worst RB's in the PL. He's certainly not the best, and was one of Chelsea's weaker players, but he did play an important part in their defensively minded games against Barcelona and Bayern. He didn't look out of place in those games, albeit with a good team around him. I suspect he is better going forward than he is at defending (he did start out life as a winger/striker), but he's certainly a good enough defender for QPR. Comparisons to Djimi Traore are unfair in my opinion - we could find weak players who have won many tournaments, but that does not automatically mean other players who win those tournaments are poor, that is absurd! This goes back to that age old, Norwich vs QPR debate of "I prefer to build my team" vs "I prefer to buy my team!". In truth, I'd like to see my club to a little of both, but hey, I'm not in control. As posted above, I certainly think Dawson and Carvalho could improve out defensive given a little time. I asked the Chelsea fans on their board and they seem to think he would still do a very good job. Anyway, all the best Saturday aside. I think the managers should make some sort of pact that neither team scores more than 3 goals - man conceding 5 was painful!
fair post, although this is a debate about a players ability rather than which club is going down the right route of buying players! i think that's been done to death. i'm only going on what i've seen - and bosingwa and traoré is a fair comparison in my view. he'll get caught out regularly, especially playing in a slightly weaker team who have to defend more. who knows, maybe he'll prove me wrong and suddenly become a top class defender, but i very much doubt it. as for the scoreline, its got 0-0 written all over it
0-0?! More like 5-5 the way our defenders looked. I guess we'll have to wait on the Bosingwa front - I only mentioned the transfer policy as I figured that was part of why you wouldn't want him, which is fair enough if you ask me.
no, i wouldn't want him cos i think he's dogshite! he was a freebie wasn't he? ok, he's probably on a fair old whack each week. i predicted 1-1 on our prediction thread - we've got a fabulous record against qpr, especially at carrow road, but this game will be a lottery - anything could happen after last weekend!!
Given their recent signings you wouldn't want to be part of QPR's medical team, particularly their new specialist geriatric unit. Busier than Glasgow Infirmary on a Saturday night after an old firm match I reckon. What is their squads average age? Must be pushing 30.
