very true, i think lucas needs minding though. he's not lasting 90 yet so if we want him v city we need to protect him just a bit here.

Picked a draw, I think the City game has become pretty important and can see a weaker team going. Adam to play, assaidi ( if not cup tied), kelly, sterling, spearing, hendo, shelvey, etc.

I'm nor sure if osama is cup tied or not at this stage... he won't be for the group stages since qualifiers don't count to cup tie for group stages.. but he may be tied for the hearts games...

Love how no rule is ever clear.

Bout as clear as turtleman in pond. <ok>

I fully expect a side similar to what we took to Gomel. Resting the bigger names.

Assaidi isn't available for either of the two games against Hearts. He has already played for Heerenveen in the qualifying rounds so isn't available.

If we get past Hearts and into the groups stages, he will then become eligible to play for us in the Europa League.

Here is a link explaining the situation... http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/no-hearts-debut-for-assaidi

A win would be a welcome boost right now.

Will Hearts care much given they have a great chance of finishing 2nd this season in the SPL?

I think this is the time for Liverpool to give some younger players a run out, this Hearts is a weaker side than the one Spurs demolished last time out.

That said I like to follow Hearts so I'll be hoping they pull off an unlikely cupset. <ok>

I was a little presumptuous for our first game, so I'm being a touch more circumspect in my prediction this time and I'm going for a draw. To be fair, though - WUMs aside! - who'd have predicted that result against WBA!

We should have a much better chance against Hearts, although they will have home advantage, so we'll have to allow for that.

I think BR will field a fairly strong team as it's still early in the season. I would like to see Carroll to start, with Borini and Suarez, up front. I'd also like to see Sterling on at some point even if he doesn't start. I have a feeling BR likes Downing and will start him to try and increase his confidence. I doubt Enrique will feature as it sounds like he's trying to get fit for Sunday, and still might not feature, even then. Left back and right back might be as in the WBA game, possibly with Flanno deputising or used as a sub in the right back position.

Again, it'll be interesting to how BR set us up and how the team responds to the WBA defeat. I think we need a win - but a spirited draw would do me, TBH! <ok>

I imagine they'd get a fair bit of money by SPL standards if they were to proceed Through this tie so you'd assume that they would be giving it their all.

anyway I think you'll draw this one and win comfortably in the return leg.

That's what I think: draw at theirs and a win at our place. If things go well, that is. <ok>

Mind like a squid? Or sieve? Isn't it on tomorrow? I think someone said it's on ITV4, or something. I'm just going to watch it on a sopcast, as usual. <ok>

A few years ago Hearts were cruising at the top of the SPL and pundits were going wild, in full belief that the old firm was being broken.

But Hearts manager had a falling out with the owner and got instantly fired, much to the disgrace of their fans. They slipped down the league like rock fall.

I once spent a year at Bordauxe. Chamakh was my star man. I bought him to Liverpool with me.

    He was my Konchesky.
