He's available and he's good and he's just what we need. I genuinely rate the bloke.

We could do far far worse.

While we're at it, Dawson is also avaliable and could plug a gap that needs to be plugged sharpish. If AVB thinks these players aren't good enough that's his look out but at the price we could get them they could see us out of a hole.

Not entirely convinced we need another two injury prone players tbh. Both of them have been crocked for good portions of the last couple of seasons.

    Well, not entirely true.

Huddlestone has had an injury and now doesn't. This does happen to players, it happened to Vidic and we're not writing him off. I don't think either can be called injury prone as such, they have just had injuries.

With Dawson, and he was an after thought to be honest, he can play at centre half straight away and we need one. In fact, of we don't get one in and carry on with Carrick in this position then we could really **** our season up right from the start. If Dawson proves to be a success he then becomes a squad player and free's up Jones to concentrate on maybe become the DCM answer as Carrick is very clearly not that answer and we don't otherwise have anyone in that position.

    I wpuldt mind either player..

Was thinking the same re Dawson when I saw he may be free and gping to qpr.

An it stands a good chance we will end up a lot of points behind city if our defence stays as it is..

    Huddlestone IS a holding midfielder.

I've never wanted an out an out defensive mid.. Would rather a proper box to box type player ala keane and robson and huddlestone is more that type.

I wouldn't go for Huddlestone. We don't need any more journeymen in our squad. I remember the times of Sexton and Fat Ron when any damn player who had a good season was bought at a high price. They would then not fit in in the system or the place was too big for them and they flopped badly. The likes of Birtles, Davenport, Brazil, Thomas are burnt in my memory!

Would get Dawson, as he is decent CB and would free up Carrick to go back into midfield. Never been convinced about Huddlestone though, but as a stop gap why not.

Huddlestone can pick a decent pass but I fear he's not very mobile and has the odd injury. Too good for Stoke though.
