This along with Dawson for 10million, smacks of panic buying from Hughes and the Board......I think paying 10 million for Dawson is REDICULOUS! and Carvalho was a good player, but at 34, is he still that good? Im not so sure.
Obviously he's past his best but he's still quality and better than anything we have. If we get Mbia as well we have the basis of a decent squad...
To be honest, panic buying or not....who cares as long as it works. Only time will tell and we will all know by the end of the season.
Loan signings other than for a youngster who wants to prove/improve themselves are generally a bad idea. Bad for team spirit and while Carvalho may be a quality player but he’s not really going to be bothered if things start going wrong.

Smacks of grabbing the first name available!! This is going to messup the balance of our squad, couldn't they have hung on for a bit longer and found someone a bit older??
