This wouldn't have happened because of Saturday, this would of taken weeks and possibly months of planning. As Goldhawk mentioned earlier, these things take a while to sort out. It's a chain of transfer events which enables deals to be done. Hughes would of had a war chest drawn up at the end of last season. If he could of got all the players he wanted in sooner he would of.
Im reading this thread and I cant believe some of the complete and utter bollocks that some of you come up with!....
I'm begging to think Neil warnock and paddy kenny have hacked some of the not606 users accounts and are coming out with utter crap to cause arguments, worry, over reaction and quiet frankly some of the biggest tosh I've seen on these boards.
The fees bandied about in the media are rarely accurate. Sometimes they include either wages, bonuses, signing on fee, agent fees, future fees or some, or all of them. Take the Michael Turner to S'land from Hull deal, Sunderland completed the signing of Turner on a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee initially thought to be at least £6 million, but later revealed to be just £4 million. On 11 July 2011, Birmingham accepted a bid, reported as £7 million, from Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers for Johnson. Two days later, Johnson signed a four-year contract with Wolves. The fee was officially undisclosed, and the club claimed that the reports on its size were inaccurate. A few days later, the Wolverhampton-based Express & Star newspaper reported that the club had in fact paid a flat fee of "just over £4m" Wikipedia Those two deals are just taken from the top of my head but at least goes some way to prove that the over hyped fees the media like to report are often inflated.
Some Spurs fans views on the teamtalk site: alfagunner (Arsenal): huge mistake by tottenham! I used to dread playing tottenham with dawson in the back spursboy86 (Tottenham Hotspur): What is this? Summer interns running Teamtalk these days? Where are the sources? Why is this video of M. Hughes talking about the previous game here? Didn't say one word about Daws. Why would we sell one of our best defenders to QPR? Editor Comments : Sorry, had probs with the video in here so have taken it off - it's going to happen mate, AVB doesn't rate him whl (Tottenham Hotspur): Feel so sorry for Daws, cannot belive Avb has let him go, all the best. ad ebay or (Tottenham Hotspur): Don't want this bloke to go. Leader and good player. May not be first choice but still would like him at the club. russian_spur (Tottenham Hotspur): Not happy about this at all. I would rather we sold Gallas and then be left with Kaboul, Vertonghen, Caulker and Daws. sofaking (Tottenham Hotspur): Why the hell is Dawson been sold? Was he not announced as club captain a couple of months back? Worrying times at Spurs. :-( woodsidespurs (Tottenham Hotspur): Avb slowly destroying Tottenham! Well done mate, see you learnt nothing from your time at Chelsea! spurs-til-i-die (Tottenham Hotspur): Absolutely gutted with this, all the best daws - legend ! shamrock (Tottenham Hotspur): Best of luck to you Dawson , sorry to see you go. schmiffy (Tottenham Hotspur): zerozero (Tottenham Hotspur): I'm very very very unhappy at this. AVB is already proving to be an interesting Managerial signing... yidmike (Tottenham Hotspur): I'm sick to say I'm pissed off is an understatement! Daws wears his heart on his sleeve I had him down as a future England Skipper. I'm gutted thanks Michael for all the commitment me and many yids wish you all the bet for the future. The majority seems genuinly gutted to see him leave which is always a good sign. There will always be some that defends the decission, just like at Arsenal where many are saying that selling RvP was a good thing
NorwayRangr, no doubting the guy has talent, he is a class defender, a great guy and will fit in well, especially as you need some leadership at the back, I'll be sad to see him go, especially as Gallas is at the club. However, it seems crazy for you to sign him, as he is injury prone and liable to miss huge chunks of the season, he isn't getting any younger and chances are his injury problems will worsen. For me, your manager is desperate to do well as he knows if he screws up at qpr then no top club will touch him in the premier league so maybe he is being short sighted in his signings rather then thinking about the future of the club. I have Hughes down as a moron, an arrogant one and I don't believe he is healthy for your club
SSN deal done £9m rising to £10m with add ons......for a crock who played 6 or 7 times last season, and you take the piss over us getting SB ? Wheel Dyer out on Sat please so we can all really have a good laugh at you
You believe what you want, but Dawsons price can't be anywhere near that sum. Dawson maybe dont play whole season , but during the few matches he plays he would be more useful to us than disastrous SB for you on the whole season.
