Samuel has a soft spot for us (strange for a West Ham fan) but explained that's because his dad did as well. He seems to hate Arsenal and Liverpool avidly though.

Ian Ridley is the worst I've ever seen though, you only need to google his name and "Chelsea" to see what I mean. He has not been allowed on Sunday Supplement since his Chelsea bashing 2 years ago when he refused to give credit to a 7-1 win over Villa and claimed our goal difference was only better than Uniteds because of Portsmouth and Villa rolling over for us. He is apparently a Fulham fan so that explains it. Even Andy Dunn (another Chelsea hater) stuck up for us.

The only one I have time for is Barclay who is the only one that has the balls to criticise United and Fergie. Wallace is okay as well as is Samuel.

That Palace fan Neil Ashton can just piss off though

Arsenal had a massive media love in based purely on their infective passing. Can you explain this phenomenon DL?

BAR, I just don't like this fooking casual "Hansen and lawrenson are bias towards Liverpool" crap when the facts speak the opposite (certainly in lawrenson's case). There ARE Liverpool-biased journalists and presenters in the media - ffs even i can't defend alan green. Hansen's main weakness and he states the fookin' obvious, lawrenson's is that he thinks he's funny but he's cringeworthy. And he often calls it wrong (but nowhere near as much as the said Smith or andy Gray when he stalked SKY). By all means, berate them if you wish, but there's no need to invent bias and favouritism to aid your case.

    Brighty's a bit special. You've got to love those cranially-deficient pundits. I know I do. <ok>

The Guardian have always been pro-Arsenal as have many of the middle class papers but the majority and overwhelming amount of the gutter right wing filth like The Sun and Telegraph hate them, could be down to the many Spurs/United influences in the media or Xenophobic nature of our press, who knows

Don't know where you jumped into the conversation, but it was about Hansen and lawrenson. BAR may have WISHED to expand it to all BBC employees (I dare say Peter Sissons may have predicted Liverpool to win the league too, being a famous Liverpool fan, but that's not the subject either), but I specifically asked him to find the quote for Hansen or lawrenson.

    Sweetcheeks.

    Thick ****shaft.

I see no mention of MOTD or Hansen/Lawrenson.

I don't particularly care what you asked for to be fair <ok>

I couldnt pick out an individual pundit at the time but I remembe it clearly from a football focus at the back end of last season. I taunted on of my good mates (liverpool fan) about it at the time :p

Which I don't doubt. But as the conversation was about Lawrenson (specifically) and Hansen that's the quote I asked for. i do appreciate, as i said earlier in the thread, there are some 'journalists', especially ex-players, who are biased towards Liverpool and have made some cringeworthy predictions. Hansen and lawrenson, although they may not be to everyone's taste, just do NOT allow their bias to influence their predictions for league winners. thompson does - but he never hides his bias.

I was careful to say 'one of the pundits' though as I knew I didn't know for sure.

"I was careful to say 'one of the pundits' though as I knew I didn't know for sure."

I was equally careful to ask for a quote related to a Lawrenson or Hansen prediction. As said, if I wanted a quote from anyone in the BBC I dare say you'd find one who predicted that Liverpool would win the league, the FA Cup, Wimbledon, The Boat Race and the Grand National, then top it off with enough gold medals to win the Olympics. But, as i said (and i can supply the quotes if you wish) the coversation was about the predictions of Hansen and, in particular, lawrenson.

It is interesting following this debate that almost everyone can point out instances of biases for certain teams and some against others. I think there is a London bias myself but I am fully aware that this is very subjective. We all think there is a bias against our own team.

Anything they write against my team which I think unfair or even mildly inaccurate I take great exception to but the same error a bout another team especially a rival I would not even notice or give a sh1t about. The reality is that journalists take into account the readership and their club following. If the most popular club is the mancs then they arenot going to be anti-Manc are they? If being pro manc means anti-Liverpool then they will go for it.

I suspect the BBC is the same. I noticed that Hansen and shearer (motd) both went for City while Lawrenson and roberts (motd2) both went for the other mancs. I cannot believe that Chelsea is out ofthe race. Yes they have had a poor premiership last year but they have reinforced and I think they will challenge.
