lol and as ever, the comments are the better part of the article.

I'm amazed some of those commentators are allowed access to electricity never mind the internet.

Agreed. Warnings were given so no excuse for anyone to be late. Laughable HDM story imo.

To be fair it is quite a long queue though!

Does anybody know if you have to go through the turnstile on your card?

To be even fairer, turning up 5 mins before kick off when you were told explicitly to turn up a lot earlier is asking for trouble. Even without a new system I always like to get to the ground at least 30 mins early, never understood why people turn up literally just before kick off, its just tempting fate.

I was expecting big headlines of THOUSANDS OF FANS BOYCOTT OPENING DAY OPENER .Or something along the lines for our low turn out .Price increase keeps thousands away.Thousands stay away in protest over nick and adam sacking.Thousands stay away in Allam protest. You get the drift anyhow theirs still the rest of the week to go yet.

I turned up @ the same time i usually do and yes it was a little slower to get in but so what, give the system time and people will get used to it. I was laughing to myself in the queue because it was so stereotypical that every other city fan joining the queue came with the attitiude of 'I don't like change me, bring back tickets'!

Can you only use your card for a set number of turnstiles or do the barcodes work throughout your chosen stand?

Try getting into Upton ****ing Park. We queued for 20minutes to get in and then 40mins to get on a tube.

It's all the Allams fault, instead of spending millions to keep the club solvent, they should have given every real supporters free access into the ground, by simply having to swipe a card, rather than this system that does away with people employed as tickect checkers in booths. Roll on the day when there are ****ing happy bastards at a Hull City match.

The beer has to be crap as it makes the pies edible. The crowd has to complain because it's Hull City!

Ok Im genuinely curious, why would anyone want to try and arrive at the ground 5 mins before kick off? How often does it go wrong and you end up missing kick off? What's the latest you ended up getting in? It might be just my inability to be late for anything but that would send me insane.

when you go every week, it becomes boring getting there half an hour before the game etc, theres only so long you can stand reading the engraved bricks and pretend you care what they say...
obviously last week was different with the new system and potential problems, but in past years why wouldnt you get there bang on time....i like to get there about 2.50pm, but my brothers mates who i sit with have it like clockwork and arrive bang on 2.59pm every week and have missed kick off once in 10 years due to a slight traffic problem, i always hope they do and miss a goal , but sadly bang on time they arrive every week <laugh>
