Didn't think much of the local band choice at half time. Mind you i couldn't really hear much of it in e3.

I agree FLG, we need to alter the music now and then. Remember when we first moved to the KC, the playlist was Clocks (Coldplay- utter ****e), Stop Crying You're Heart Out (not one of Oasis' most uplifting songs- bizarre choice) and Town Called Malice (best out the bunch). But then we had the same build up on the pitch ie introducing the stands and Tyger Tyger.

I didn;t mind Tyger Tyger at first but it got repetitive.

Love Tiger Tiger - it's unique to us and could not be nicked by any other clubs. Not bothered about the rest although we used to stand and sway with our scarves to "wise men" which drove the bloke behind us mad as his view of the pitch was obscured for all of 20 seconds. Have no idea why this irked him so much as he spent the next 90 mins moaning about how rubbish we are!!!!!

Heh, this made me laugh! I bet he took the view he spent his money and was entitled to do that. I wonder if when he got home he told his missus he'd enjoyed himself?

He's not a bad bloke but greets every foray into the box by the opposition with "here it is" or a resigned "yep" when their striker has a shot. Every attempt we have is met by silence. Craig M-S was deemed as being "too hot for us to handle" even though his goal tally for Saturday was nil! The bloke behind him is as bad so it is like some sort of nightmare echo. We did think new season optimism may have kicked in but clearly this is not the case.

I like the principal of promoting local bands at half time, but that was a terrible choice for the first one, some music simply isn't going to work in that setting.

Quality. The Tiger Rag in that clip is the one i remember from Boothferry Park and would be much better IMO for when the teams come out of the tunnel. Great memories of BP and i remember that Frank Bough bit very well. Look at the match day prices for starters. Loved the view from the corner of the east stand next to bunkers hill. I stood there for the last time for the GB v. Australia rugby league test match on 30/Oct/1982 when GB got thrashed by 40-4.
Shortly afterwards the Hull Council closed that section due to the crumbling concrete. Yes it was crumbling but was not as bad as was made out. imo.

Boothferry Park has gone but will forver live on in the memories for everyone who went there. Steam rising from the gents toilets on a cold winters day is one sight i dont miss mind. Lol.

One change I did notice was the format of announcing teams. Both teams were announced together this time which took focus off ours really. They should announce the opposition team before the final bit of music still. It all seemed very rushed n that respect of rolling off 36 players in that short space of time.

The YMCA is not as gay as the mauled thing.

Speed was an issue with the Elvis. I wouldn't have it feed into the game regardless of version, but what about this just somewhere in the prematch playlist?

I didn't even realise there'd been a local band at half-time, thought it was spent parading Campbell.

I remember listening to Burnsy's show and he played this. I enjoyed it and thought it would have been a good idea to replace the Elvis version with this one

I don't think that was a song you heard at Boothferry Park. For one thing it isn't Tiger Rag but Tigerland and is the song of an Aussie Rules football club.
Never been able to pin down which version of Tiger Rag was used at BP. Have heard 3 different names given, unfortunately although there are dozens of versions on YouTube a couple of those aren 't on it.

My husband tells me that the clip of Tiger Rag comes in at about the 4min 54sec mark following Tigerland. The version of Tiger Rag played at Boothferry Park has been debated across most Hull City forum boards but no agreement has ever been reached as to which version(or versions) was played in the 30 or so year period it was the Tigers pitch entry music. Hopefully one day the answer will emerge! For the record he believes it was part of the Mills Brothers version.
