Hi all, still getting used to this not606 so i though i'd write my 1st thread. Probably useless information for you to all read but im just going to say who i think should come an go this summer. What do you all think?

    Out:
Marc McCammon must go for the amount he is being paid. I understand he is the 2nd higest paid player after Bayo.

Josh Gowling: As much as i would love him to stay, ive read from sky sports that he's unfortunatly leaving.

Gary Richards: I feel richards is a liability at the back. Hes gifted strikers goals this season which is why hessy dropped him a couple of weeks ago

Tony Sinclair: I feel that sinclair is an okay defender but not worthy of league 1/2 football. i would prefer to see the likes of essam or davies be backup centre halfs and could reduce the wage bill.

Lance Cronin: I dont feel Cronin is worthy of being in our team, He seems very nervous when playing in goal and i dont think he is good enough to even be a number 2. If the up and coming darren hawkes wants to be the number 2 then by the looks of things he needs to cut the burgers out!

    IN:
Considering i have 3 center halfs to leave, that could be the main position to sort in the summer. Lawrence is a rock at the back and im not sure on King to be fair anymore. If only if we could keep Gowling, this would have my 2 centre halfs with essam davies and king for back up.

Cody Mac: Im not sure we can afford cody. for a player that scores 25+ a season i think norwich will be looking for a hefty sum for him. I know he says he wants to stay but mayb thats just to keep up happy and could easily walk into a league 1 side.

Chris Welpdale: Very promising player. i thought he brough a breath of fresh air into the side and seeing he doesnt play much for the posh, and them seeking promotion, could leave in the summer?

Adam Birchall: Now ive heard that its a done deal already. im not saying its true but its what ive heard. i feel that it could be good for us, but hes been at this level and never performed but im sure hess and the team could sort that out.

Contract that need renewing: Weston, Barcham and Bayo. Although i can see Bayo leaving this summer.

I know this can be boring and useless for many but im not into people slating me for writing this im just interesting what people think. <ok>

MikeGills32 - firstly you shouldn't worry about what you write, it's your opinion <ok>

Cody, would love him to stay, just can't see us affording the asking price, also might depend on what League we are in next season.

Barcham, one of my favourite player's (yeah I know some slate him), would be in my team.

Bayo, been feeding Cody all season, would like to keep the big man's strength up front.

Lawrence, at the beginning I gave this guy loads of slating and I wasn't convinced - he proved me wrong, we need his experience at the back.

Gowling - some like him, some hate him - I like him, good in the air, considering the height of some of our players.

    Birchall / Whelpdale - interesting - <laugh>

    Richards / Martin /Julian - not convinced.

    Whatever happened to Rene Howe?

I can a lot of changes in the summer if we don't go up.

Out would go : Cody Mac, Bayo, Weston, Barcham, Gowling, Palmer, Cronin, Bentley, Martin, MaCammon, White, Maher, Richards (in an ideal world!), and poss even King. i would also get rid of Julian and Sinclair as well.

That would leave Payne J, Rooney, Lawrence, Fuller, Nutter, Jackman, Spiller, Oli and Payne S as the experianced professionals at the club! Well we all new the squad was too big anyway.

This would at least free up some wages to bring in hopefully good replacements

    1 Good keeper
2-3 central defenders (ideally who could also do a job at full back)
    1 holding midfielder
    1 decent winger
2 10/15 goal a season strikers at this level.
    1 fairly decent backup striker.

Yeah, ok if you keep the ball on the ground, sometimes we try and hoof them over the top, then he's got no chance.

That's where Bayo comes in, back to goal, down on his chest, to feet, flick on for Cody..GOAL!!!

Like brb I was a big fan of Rene Howe too. He was exceptional in the run in at the end of last season especially against Leeds and Southampton. Last I heard he was out on loan at Bristol Rovers. I think he would be a great squad addition. Faster than Bayo with an equally good first touch and better in the air too.

Anyway - back to the original topic, here's my take on the squad as it stands.

Julian - keep, but whether or not we can get someone in to challenge him is another matter, maybe a young keeper on a season long loan a la Luke Daniels formerly of Shrewsbury.

Fuller - keep, however I think there are better captaincy candidates out there.

Nutter - keep, but give him competition.

Weston - Depends on what league we are in, so frustrating that he quite often doesn't fulfill his full potential and goes missing in games. When he's on form he's almost unplayable.

King - Would love him to stay, but not sure if we will ever see the same Simon King again...to be honest I think, as sad as it is to say I think he will have to retire in the not too distant future.

Richards - Again, sitting on the fence. He formed a good partnership with Lawrence, however against Hereford was simply shocking. I don't know what to make of him. Maybe keep if we stay in L2

Maher - Keep, his performances in the last few months have deserved another year.

Bentley - Will only be a squad player and pretty sure he will leave.

    McCammon - Who? Bye bye.

Cody - In a dream world we'd be able to keep him but I can't see it happening. A lot depends on Norwich's plight as to whether or not they keep him, or the pricetag they slap on him. Personally I think that if he doesn't stay at Priestfield, then a L1 side with a bit more funding will snap him up. Maybe Peterboro will want a Mackail-Smith replacement...

Barcham - keep, pace that we're gonna' need.

Palmer - definitely retain his services, he'll have a lot to prove after injury and has the potential to be a huge asset to us with his versatility

Rooney - keep, but we have to start using him a little more.

Lawrence - keep for another year? Might depend on what league we are in come next August.

Gowling - not convinced that the leaving talk is 100% true, I think his agent has done nothing more than put him in the shop window and I'm convinced that if we are promoted, he'll stick around.

Spiller - keep him, an asset to the squad. When he wants to be.

Jackman - Will be a decent L2 squad member but has not had much of a run in the side to prove he is worth keeping at this moment in time. However, we paid a fee for him so no doubt would want a return on this.

Oli - Either Bambi on Ice, or a definite attacking threat. Keep him for another year but keep the bloody guy fit.

S Payne - Doesn't look like he's cut out for league football. Get rid if possible.

Cronin - don't think he will provide adequate enough cover for Julian/A N Other, get rid if we can find a taker further down the footballing food chain.

Bayo - A must keep, maybe L1 is punching a little above his weight (no pun intended) but is vastly under-rated and a vital asset. Hopefully he'll have Cody up top with him...

J Payne - Another must keep. Remember Hessenthaler saying that we should build the team around him, however rightly being kept out by Maher at this moment in time.

Sinclair - another like Cronin, don't really think L2 is his level, certainly L1 wouldn't be. Get rid.

Martin - maybe he needs another season to settle, as he hasn't impressed me much to be honest so far.

Please note I've only really looked at the senior players in the side so far, opinions on this anyone? Sorry for the essay.

If your looking for a striker, i'm sure you could have Craig ***an from Hull out of contract in the summer and only on about £15,000-£20,000 a week, I think he could do a job for you. Hey, why not take Mark Cullen from us aswell.<laugh>

I think Tom tom Sat nav has said it all (good opinions, and agree with all) Players to get in would be whelpdale, and Kedwell might be an option but this will alll depend which league we play in next season (ps Gill to win the play-off final against shrewsbury 2-0 Mcdonald and weston)
