If we keep playing the way we do, the goals against us will come flying in when teams get up to pace.
I'm not a Leeds fan (thank christ ), it was an assumption of NW's tactics based more on my knowledge of Blackpool than of what Leeds have done previously. Perhap Drury just isn't fit enough for Warnock despite not being injured?
Thanks for your thoughts. He was an early signing so what would the excuse be for his not being fit and why don't we know about it?
Simple Question: From what style of performance you have seen from both games, what positives do you take?
New season, same old Tuesdays. We really rode our luck to be fair, but when victory is in sight you have to learn to close the game out. Something for Warnock to work on but at the end of the day we have taken 3 points from 6 against two of the most fancied teams in the division. You have to remember our new side needs time to find its feet. I'm not too disgruntled yet but may well be if we get feck all at Posh on Saturday. MOT
Is 'positive' the ultimate virtue of being a football fan or something? What happened to looking at the facts and basing your judgements on those? That's clearly what Boab's doing here, and while I've had my prominent disagreements with him, his football arguments are based on reality rather than fantasy. I obviously couldn't be at the game today (being abroad and all that), but Eddie and Thom didn't sound too optimistic about our chances. 'Be interesting to see how Austin does away from home'. 'Blackpool will play good football on the ground, something different from what I'll expect from Leeds tonight'. 'Leeds never really created any chances'. I'll reserve my judgement until I hear other fans' verdicts who went to Bloomfield Road (mind you, they were probably all pissed out of their heads!) And also when I see the highlights when the usual lovely man uploads them to Google's video-hosting arm. But the signs aren't good to say the least. Little creativity after the needless losses of Clayton and Snodgrass. Little cutting edge by the sound of it, Becchio in the clouds again. Lower Than Sewer Rat takes the place of McCormack, provider of both our goals this season and the only real chance to make a goal happen tonight in my view. Are people still touting us for promotion? Between 10th and 14th is my prediction unless the takeover goes through and Warnock gets some money to build this vaunted marquee of his.
It's football mate, truth is fans know **** all about what's going on within the club they support. It could literally be anything from a full scale fall-out to a niggle that's not been announced. Whether or not clubs should be fully transparent is an argument for another day
We beat Wolves, looked quite comfortable in beating them. Had a clean sheet, defence looked good. Last season we lost to Blackpool 5-0. I think you're being over dramatic. Come half way into the season if we are still languishing in 13/14th place and not performing I'll admit I was wrong.Blackpool will be one of the favourites. Nothing to worry about at the moment.
I think there's positives to alot of things. We sometimes forget we have a new manager, pretty much new 11,facing one of the favourites away from home and would this have been last season we all know what happened. Yes from what I heard it was a poor performance, but it was an improvement on last seasons. And I'm not going to judge 2 matches into the season in which we've faced 2 of the better teams and beat one of them
2nd game folks. Blackpool are one of our toughest tests. We will take a lot of scalps, we will have our scalp taken many times. Part and parcel of this league.
We didn't look comfortable in beating Wolves, we allowed them to almost dictate the whole 2nd half and rode our luck. Yes we got thumped last season by Blackpool and I would suggest that we are lucky we have met them at the start of the season, rather than half way through it or else the same result would probably occur. We have a manager who takes off our best player and the one who creates goals, for another midfield player to stop teams scoring against us, yet it fails. We were dire in the 2nd half on Saturday, we were played off the park and we looked crap. From what I have seen we will have a difficult season when other teams get up to the pace of the league.
we've a new 11 but **** all attacking talent. No ****ing wonder we couldn't hold onto a lead, we had NO OUTLET.
Scoreline doesn't bother me it was the manner of the defeat, how we never showed up and the decision making 1) Peltier at LB when we have the 'best LB in the championship' 2) McCormack last seasons leading scorer taken off - So Varney is better than McCormack? 3) Pugh on when we need another goal? He is transfer listed ffs and we have Gray on the bench I like Warnock but thank **** it wasn't Grayson making those decisions or all hell would have broken out.
Listen I'm getting fecking fed up saying this: Warnock doesn't like gifted players, he only wants players who give 100% and battle on the park. We will not have the type of player we all know we need for as long as Warnock is in charge. What you have seen over the last 2 games is Warnock's football team and he will not change it for anybody.
Pathetic management, it's a simple as that. I'm not sure how long Leeds fans will give Warnock when it is obvious he is making errors all over the place.
Fair enough. But I used to let Grayson off the hook for us being on the wrong end of comebacks because we were so often on the right end of them, indeed probably more often winning as a result of them than losing. And because when we were 1-0 up, his sides tended to keep chasing the game. 'Attack is the best form of defence'. Will we keep seeing nervy closing-outs of games like Wolves, and indeed failed attempts at sitting on a lead like tonight? 'There's a big difference between a long ball and a punt up the pitch. And Becchio had to deal with a lot of punts up tonight.' - Eddie Gray. Don't **** this up, Warnock. This team aren't going to win by twatting it into the stratosphere and hoping Luciano gets his cranium on the end of it.
If we play like that from now until Christmas he will be sacked - Hope for his sake he gets the funds and spends them wisely. We all agree best defence we have had in years and yet he uses an 18 year old youth development player and a RB out of position. I wonder sometimes if NW is trying to live up to his reputation too much.
