SSN's twitter has updated 6 mins ago saying that qpr's bid of 9mill for Dawson has been accepted. looks like there's been negotiating over the last 3 hours https://twitter.com/SkySportsNews
The Standard seem to think that we got £5.5m for Bassong, so we got change from the Adebayor signing! http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/foo...sboas-is-set-to-offload-six-more-8069463.html
Sky sports news Spurs accept 9M for Daws. Not happy about that, good business but us selling our Captain. That's a gooner trick. Daws could also do better than QPR
Was Dawson ever actually named as captain? I know that the media said he was going to get it, but I can't remember it being made official. Who was captain for the Newcastle game? I forgot to check.
Gallas captained us against the Toon didn't he? Not impressed about us selling Dawson if it's true, but had a cheeky look at SSN website just now and couldn't see anything about a bid being accepted
(I corrected your spelling mistakes Piskie) If that is the case they are paying us £5M to take him. Nice one Levy!!!!!!!
It was on their twitter earlier and they've just updated their site. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/8008391/?
Ah I must have checked before it went up or missed it completely or something. Whatever, cheers for the link Very mixed feelings about the sale if it does go through, we've got a good price but we're losing a quality centre back and a fantastic leader. Not many clubs could boast a player the calibre of Dawson as a supposedly '3rd choice centre back'. He's been a fantastic servant of the club and seems a genuinely great person in the bargain. It really won't be the same without him this year. We should hopefully be fine with 4 senior centre backs (I'm counting Caulker there) but I'd be interested to see if we bring up another youth prospect to be around the 1st team squad, like Caulker has done in the last few years.
Surprised Jol's not in for Dawson. Not happy that Dawson's leaving. The only positive I can see is that AVB has identified a player that isn't in his plans and hasn't dragged it out by letting him linger around the fringes of the squad, assuming that he's been sold because he's surplus and not to raise funds.
Paulo Freitas, a journo who is a semi reliable source on Brazilian football is reporting that Spurs are in talks with Internacional tonight re: Damaio. However, he says Damaio is partly 3rd party owned (Hermann Aichinger, 30% economic rights whatever that means). He says the 3rd party want to do business but Internacional want to keep him. He also reports that Internacional are denying any meeting is taking place. He has a very high opinion of Damaio, he says thay he is the best Brazillian striker by far at the moment and thinks he will easily adapt to the Premiership.
Perhaps we need money to buy. Bassong, Daws out today = £15M. If we can get all of our "ins" in without doing the Modric deal it will make it much easier for Levy to play hard ball with RM on the 31st.
What on Earth would we do if we signed him though? I can't see him being a happy second choice, nor would Ade and Defoe won't like being 3rd choice again one bit. The £20 odd million could be better spent elsewhere and I'm not sure it needs to be spent at all.
Big news. Modric's profile just turned up on the RM site http://www.realmadrid.com/cs/Satellite/es/1330111704986/jugador/Jugador/Modric.htm please log in to view this image
