lol thanks. I'm a bit drunk, so not 100% sure that you're being sarcastic Roger, but I'll take it as sarcasm anyway. lol
Would they pay £10m and £60k/£70k per week for a winger to supply their 2 forwards? They just might you know. I guess we will see where his heart really lies now. Liverpool Lol
****ing hell just been reassured by Tash then you come in with something just as believable, bugger bugger bugger
All right then. I personally think wage demands might be a problem for you guys signing him, but you don't have to worry about us getting him. We have a strict wage structure, and we wont break it for a player like Johnson.
A player like him? Not sure what you mean by this. He would be a huge, huge assest to either of us imo. Are you just getting your excuses in early?
Latest tweet.... "@sunechograeme: Panic over. Top source just told me Johnson "too expensive" for Newcastle. Lol. This transfer window, man. #twistsandturnseverydaynow." We can relax again. No doubt he'll sign for Spurs or Liverpool
All that means is that another team will get him instead of you. I am in no way trying to build your confidence that you will sign him, but I'm just pointing out that we will 99.7% not be signing him.
I don't mean he's not a fantastic player, but our wage cap is around 50k, and Johnson is not better than all our players, he's not better than HBA, and we pay him 50k a week. So why would we pay an extra 30k a week for Johnson plus the big transfer fee? If Johnson would play for 50k a week, I'd say we would snap him up, but at City, I reckon he'd take a minimum of 75k a week, and he's not worth it IMO. I'd rather we stuck to our plan, and trust the scouts to find us some player to shine. It's work in 90% of our latest signings
Ronaldo's buying out contract is about £450 m so we can forget about signing him!, Messi's is £160. Er i meant £160 million. I think Johnson will go to Spurs because of his England career, so we should go for Dempsey.
If I'm honest, the wage structure break is a little worrying as it will only lead one way and Sess will look at this as a reason to moan and maybe 1 or 2 others but thats why I am also comfortable that we have Martin O'Neill to manage that situation and he has had some big players in his time to manage. However, there can be no denying that his signing would mark a new era for us and add a massive shot of pace, guile and creativity to our team, just as Ben Arfa has for your lot. Couple it with Fletcher and our season would just take off.
