Yes Marseille is a wake up call ... not too many people calling each other guys there and for anyone on here who thinks the French are cowards or have no idea on how to police the area ... then think again. I wouldn't pick a fight against the French nowadays we ares till living in dreamland here in the UK. If things blow in my experience in France they blow ... we simply have no idea
Oh no it isn't.......surely you havnt forgotten the 'Bosingwa BS' thread ? Come on CB you are better than that mate
Oh but of course......... It gets dull at work getting paid to do nothing so what else can I do all day Is that you admiting to 2-0 ??
Sorry to see JB go, at least he gets to go to the club with the best fans in France. Never understood and still don't understand the double standards whereby it's ok to slag off JB and not Mark Hughes.
Bloody hell Imaz.......How much slagging off of Hughes do you want ?? I think you'll find plenty on this board bruv !!
I know what you are saying, i have an Algerian brother in law and he is a good guy, one of the many maghreb to have settled in Marseille and he definitely knows about all the goings on blahblahblah i still think it is a great city and probably best city in France IMO although I am yet to have seen Lyon/Nice and maybe others good ones
Would be shocked to see anyone take Barton at the moment...even more so to see a top quality player coming the otherway as part of the deal. Hopefully proven wrong, as Mbia is the sort of player that would have a big impact. Taken from www.westlondonsport.com... Marseille president Vincent Labrune has also played down reports that a swap deal is close to being agreed. Labrune has been quoted by French media as saying: “The condition [of loaning Barton] was that we had a concrete offer for Mbia. But the probability of seeing Mbia now sign for QPR is very weak and in this case, the Barton deal is impossible to see.”
From the bbc; QPR will hold further talks with Marseille on Tuesday as midfielder Joey Barton moves closer to a season-long loan. A deal has been agreed in principle, while the 29-year-old Barton, who is one game into a 12-match ban, is willing to move to the Ligue 1 club. QPR are keen to bring Marseille midfielder Stephane Mbia to Loftus Road as part of the deal. Joey Barton's clubs Marseille officials are in London as they look to formalise the move. If completed, the Football Association will then decide whether the remainder of Barton's ban is served abroad or when he returns to England. Barton was given his suspension after being sent off in the final match of last season against former club Manchester City. He was also fined six weeks' wages by QPR, stripped of the club captaincy and left out of the pre-season tour of Malaysia. Barton's number 17 shirt has already been given to QPR summer signing Ryan Nelsen. He recently trained with League Two Fleetwood Town, but a loan move to the Football League newcomers collapsed.
Likely if we had Barton in our squad against Swansea the team might have demonstated a little more grit, especially with their tackling?
I may well be wrong but i think Hughes hasn't ever stubbed a cigar out in a lads eye, been caught fighting in the street/night club/take away etc, been in constant trouble with the FA, served time at her Majestys pleasure etc. I'm sure Hughes is no angel but next to Barton he is a saint!
