I'm not fussed either way if he comes or not (would prefer a ball playing European CB tbh), but let's cease and desist with this 'prone to injury' bullcrap. He had one ankle injury last year which kept him out for some time. Prior to that he was a regular. If this record is not good enough, presumably you think we should get rid of Faurlin.

Total of 100 league matches during the last five seasons. Hardly just one ankle injury?

Exactly, plays only half the matches and Faurlin has matched that number in just 2.5 seasons.

Sky Sports now reporting bid of 9 million has been accepted by Spurs...... sounds like a bit too much for my liking.

SSN now reporting Spuds have accepted a bid in the region of £9.5 million,
Hope this is some sort of half up front and the rest based on appearances type of deal for a player who
although a very decent player does seem to spend a lot of time in the treatment room.

    I come in peace!

Serious question - Are any of you boys a little worried about how much you are spending on players, especially if you pay nearly £10m for Dawson?

Dawson has played 176 games for Spurs since 2005.
That's 6 seasons bar this one.
I make that an average of 29 games a season, sounds OK providing he gets the rub of the green.

9 million is a bit much Jesus!! not sure he's worth that but will improve on what we got, I've got a lot of spurs fans that rate him highly and so do I

No, the board aren't mugs and we should break even in the next 2 seasons.

Are you worried that your clubs lack of spending will see you relegated eventually?

Carra, it does sound excessive to be fair and I was thinking about putting a Queens Portsmouth Rangers article together as I'm starting to panic about what will happen should we be in another relegation fight this year.

Its early days, 1 game down and I will remain as pessimistic as ever, lol.

Its a panic buy if that amount is true. We could have got Samba for that who is much better, less injury prone and also younger.

Yes, but more importantly just 73 matches in four seasons during 2008-2012. That makes just an average 18.3 matches per season.....Thats worrying.

Those stat's are meaningless, he had a bad injury, which I presume he's recovered from.

If you boys stay up this season and next season, I'm sure you'll be fine, but if the worst does happen, I dread to think what might happen.

As for Bassong, I personally think it was a panic buy, but the good thing is our panic buy cost about a 1/3 of what your panic buy will be if you do sign Dawson for £10m.

Have to say, I'm not especially looking forward to Saturday's game!

The missed matches span several years, its not just a one off injury like Faurlins.

I take it you didnt see Bassong play for Wolves, he was beyond awful

Dawson is being quoted as £3m, around the same price as Bassong and he is 10 times the player Bassong is.

Its really weird because prior to Saturday a lot of swans were talking about how overdue a win they were at LR, surely we are well overdue none at Car row Road.........
