I actually said dress at ghosts as Baz clearly meant Liverpool fans should lay into evra because he got one of your own into trouble. It was tasteless but harmless and I was responding to Barry Ray so it doesnt count. As for anyone implying any hint me calling LFC fans racist, I shall leave that to you lot..... Rio, Evra, Fergie...... all been called racists on here this past week. Ironic with people like davidako on here. Glass houses and all that. -------------------------------
Some people have made this a car crash of a thread. Back to the original point; I think there is a tendency by sports broadcasters to ignore **** behaviour wherever possible. I think its a version of putting your head in the sand. Sometimes they can't do this because it's noticeable (like the chelsea fans (not all) at wembley chanting murders during the 2 minute silence) in which case they label all fans as ****s. All clubs have their ****ers but so do all sports. We were told that football should look at the Olympics. A guy was found guilty for making a Hitler salute and monkey noises at African players at a basket ball match. This got next to no publicity but it happened, he pleaded guilty and he was convicted. Someone threw a bottle at the sprinters before the 100m final. That got very little follow up in the press. How many other incidents happened but got no publicity? At the moment it is trendy to slate football - the behaviour of some players and some fans makes it easy to dig at. Yet sports like track and field are riddled with drug cheats, as is cycling and swimming. If football clubs treated children in the same way as Gymnastics did there'd be an outcry. Rugby his held up as an example but cheating is rife (blood gate and drug use, high tackles, punch ups and dropping players on their heads (spearing?) not to mention the scratching and clawing in the scrum and gauging. The media have an agenda and hate letting facts getting in the way of it. My only real criticism of football fans are that we are to willing to condemn if the offender aint ours but defend the indefensible if they are...but that's tribalism for you.
They purposely try and not show any bad behaviour if they can. Theres a reason they dont show fighting in the stands for example. It doesnt need the press coverage and can lead to even more trouble. the same applies with offensive chanting, everyone here know Chelsea fans chant about hillsbrough and heysel and that Liverpool fans make plane gestures as do City fans and Arsenal fans. United fans have mocked hillsbrough and chanted murderers but if it was to be made a big deal out of it you will have rival fans planning on fighting the next time the teams meet. Chances are the clubs issue apologies, find the offenders, ban them and report them to the police. If there is a really bad case they may get the media involved in order to catch them like the do with hooligans now but other wise its done without the interference of the media.
And like I said.... they try not to do it as it can cause even more trouble. Its how its been for years, if you paid attention you would already know
How about this for a song. His first name is Patrice, His first name is Patrice His second name is Evra, his second name is Evra He's ****ing liar, a ****ing liar Thats why we hate him, we hate him Wooooooah Luis Suarez Woooooah Luis Suarez Its on youtube and sang by Liverpool fans.
And yet....LFC and Chelsea fans both splashed all over the news last year make excuses all you like UIR but if this level of abuse ever eminated from another clubs away fans on such a scale and regular basis as the filth your lot spew out it would be raised within every media outlet imaginable. Hand on heart lad I haven't heard the kind of chanting from any other set of fans in such numbers as the ****e your lot get away with. If the whole of The Kop chanted Munich songs in unison you can bet your life it'd be front page news. Stop making excuses and accept your club has got this one all wrong for many years. Maybe one day they'll be forced to act but I certainly won't hold my breath.
And yet as I said (if you paid attention) LFC and CFC were splashed all over the news last year for the actions of minorities and in our case last season the actions of two individuals. You are united....you do what you want.
Would it be covered up if it were Liverpool fans singing the runway song and calling Bobby Charlton a peadophile? I doubt it.
Got to agree with Billy, i remember watching Utd v Arsenal on Sky a couple or 3 seasons ago and the loud singing of the 'Wenger' filth was echoing around OT and those sitting behind the Arsenal bench laughing at Wenger squirming. Not a mention of it on the program or in the next days tabloids, considering it refers to *****'s and there were children at the game the police and stewards should have made a few arrests to make a stand on the issue.
Unbelievably he's still trying though I will add in fairness that has expressed his dislike of said chanting so I know he's not all bad. The point is though about what gets reported and what just gets brushed under the carpet because a) the media need access to Fergie and they dare not upset him and. b) the salford media mafia have an interest in keeping Manchester as the shining example of all things good. Nothing any of us can do about it but it can be a bitter pill to swallow at times
Thats actually true. It was Manchester United fans that made up the peadophile song about Arsene Wenger. There was uproar when Manchester City fans changed Arsene Wenger to Bobby Charlton. The song goes There's only one ............ One ............. With a packet of sweets and cheeky smile .............. is a ****ing peadophile. The blanks refer to either depending on City/United fans.
Nope had several. No matter where I go or post he is always THERE. I'm going to try F1 or Cycling for a bit and try to escape, that said he'll probably have an opinion on why T tyres shouldnt be round and why the gravitational pull affects F1 drivers
And you better damned well believe his opinion is gospel, and how dare you have your own thoughts on the subject.
