Ferguson on set piece duty?

  1. During the warm up, Guthrie, Raylor, Barton, Ranger and Ferguson were all taking freekicks. Raylor and Guthrie took some crackers, Barton's looked decent aswell, but i was gob smacked to see Ferguson outshine them all. My god will this lad be something, and you can call me deluded or tell me i'm making a knee jerk reaction if you wish, but i sense something about the lad.

His freekicks were all perfectly placed in the corners of the net or just hitting the cross bar in the corners. I know it's stupid to make assumptions as taking freekicks against an open net with no wall to beat, but the lads FK's had decent pace, they all rose and came back down very quickly and looked like they would clear any wall.

Do you not think it would be worth giving the lad the opportunity to take a few? They looked as good as Ryan Taylors at his best, but except this lad was more consistant with his efforts.

God this lad is going to be something.

This sounds bad but I wouldn't mind Jonas picking up a minor niggle just so we can see a bit more of Fergi.

Anyone a regular at reserve matches and seen alot of him there?

  3. I'd say once we've gotten another win let Ferguson start LW. Give Jonas a break for a bit.

Yeh one more win and we're all but safe. Would be great to see him and some others given a run of a few games

I'd start him at home against Birmingham. I'd rather play the strongest possible team against the Scouse scum

I'd say win and keep playing a winning team to push as high up the table as possible.

  8. We can gain more if we give Ferguson some vital experience.

That works if we're winning comfortably.

What happens is we're losing and trying to get back into the game? We'd have a bench where the majority are untested youth players.

  12. Mate, who do we have in our squad anyway that would save us a game? Outside our starting 11 all we have are average players and youngsters.

Ferguson and Ranger have the ability to impact games, i'd trust them more than Ireland, Guthrie or Kuqi to have impact on a game we're losing to be quite honest.

Maybe Gutierrez' recent rise in form is down to Ferguson coming into the squad?

  14. Maybe, but he's still not up to the standard we know he's capable of.

    Just like against Villa.

Although I also agree with Tash. We don't have any experienced impact players, so we might as well put them on the bench.
