Fergie has suggested he may have another player in mind but that players club needs to sign his replacement first. Who could it be.

Sahin?
Modric?
Baines?

Or maybe its someone completely random? Martinez perhaps?

From MUTV

http://pakmans-footy-blog.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/robin-van-persie-signing-special-http.html

video of interview is there, its at the end of the video.

Who could it be then? I mean we have already signed to brilliant players so another would just be the icing on one hell of a cake <ok>

A few reoccurrences of rumours that we may be looking at Moussa Dembele from Fulham (the old one not the new one they just signed) meant to be a decent centre mid now, no idea how accurate the reports are but apparently we had a £5 million bid rejected.

Not sure if its true obviously however if he were to sign id be hopeful that he would come on well in a similar way to how Valencia improved when he came from Wigan.

Personally im more convinced it’s a midfielder we are looking for because a left back would seemingly be a short term option as I expect Fabio to be the long term replacement for Evra and im sure we may have the option to recall him from loan if Evra was injured badly. Anyone else think Evans may be used as a back up left back on occasions especially with Vidic back this year?

Looks like its Dembele.

Below £10million and it will be a grat deal but £5million is too low lol.

Whats he like, I dont know the slightest thing about the lad tbh.

I agree to a point but Evans did go for the odd run up the park last year from centre back and has played at left back the odd occasion, maybe Fergie is looking at using Jones there maybe, dunno, but as I said im not really that cinvinced we are looking for a left back, may be wrong, would have been a lot simpler if Fryers hadn't scampered off to Spurs as we would have had decent enough cover then, hell he would have had a decent chance to show why he should comand a decent salary.

Either way whoever we sign or not for that matter id imagine we'll be back to the more normal transfer activity so about the £15 million mark and relativly young

Modric would be the best buy, especially if you get Fletcher back.

Well fergie makes it clear the team needs to buy his replacement first which instantly made me think Modric.

If you know nothing about him then how do you know what is a 'great' deal for him?

Also I thought Modric has his heart set on Madrid?

Yep, Modric is rumoured to only want to move to Madrid after they expressed their interest and they are holding talks. Chelsea were interested and even bid a while back for the player so not sure whether Chelsea have given up trying to sign Luka or are in talks with the player.

Ok I have read others opinions and those of Fulham fans and conclude it would be a good deal.

Personally I dont know much about him.

Why do you need to explain everything to a tiny mumber on here?

Possibly.. You're right..

Slightly off topic here ...
If (and this is a big if) Anderson manages to stay fit for the majority of the season... I pray he starts to fulfil his potential...
The stage is set for him to have a great season, and answer all the midfield questions.

He might not have much longer to prove he belongs here..

I think he's already had his time and he's simply not up to the job at United.

SAF seems to disagree. Or maybe he's just using Anderson to fill the gaps until Fletcher and the CBs are back and we can have Carrick, Scholes, Cleverley and Fletch in CM.

Don't think Anderson is United quality but hope he can prove me wrong as long as he is a United player. Also reckon this may be his final season to prove himself to Fergie.

Possibly could be that Buttner was our final signing of this transfer window unless Fergie has something up his sleeve.

Fulham fan in peace. We signed Dembele as a striker/winger and he had flashes of good stuff but didn't deliver consistently. Part way through last season he was moved back into centre midfield and he's been a revelation. Back in May most of the regulars on our board (including me) were of the opinion that we'd rather keep him and lose Dempsey than vice versa, even with Clint's goalscoring record.

Dembele is a much better player than the stats suggest. He doesn't score a lot of goals or get a lot of obvious assists, but he's at the heart of everything the team does. He's more of a creative mid than a ball winner, although his strength and athleticism are a core part of his game. He's got great technique, and when that's combined with his athleticism he can be almost impossible to take the ball off. His mazy dribbles through the midfield are becoming a regular occurance now, seeming like he's about to lose the ball only to twist his way safely past a clutch of opposing players.

There's some uncertainty on our board as to whether he has one or two years to run on his contract. I'd be surprised if the club accepted less than £20m for him if he still had a decent length of time to run. If it's only one year, it would be a lot less, but £5m seems like a lot less than Fulham would be likely to accept even with the contract clock ticking. He also seems to be happier than Dempsey with the idea of staying at Fulham - I saw reports saying he wants to show some loyalty to Jol - which might make it harder for any buyer (even one as illustrious as Man Utd) to winkle him out if the club isn't happy with what's on offer. I'm not convinced that he's the type of midfielder United need, or that he'd get as much game time as he'd like if he went to you, but the regulars on your board would be better placed than me to comment on that.

Best of luck for the season (apart from this coming weekend, obviously). I've got Rooney and Kagawa in my Fantasy League team, so I'm hoping you (and they) have a good one.

Google links to your site as saying "Fulham Football Club has today confirmed the signing of 23 year old Moussa Dembele from AZ Alkmaar on an 3 year deal" back in 2010, so he must have one year left to run unless there was a hidden one year extension somewhere.

Cheers for the post <oh> Good information. His close control and dribbling is top notch, as you mentioned.

Hope you lot have a good season too... You've got some really exciting new signings in there....
