Followed by West Ham at home and the Albion away. Can see a draw and a loss there if things aren't dealt with immediately. The problem isn't the players nor TF.

Will you do me a kindness? Could everybody please just walk the dog, drink plenty of water and cheer the **** up? Exercise and hydration are good for mood stabilisation. Thank you.

SB, this is not an attempt to cause any issue with you or anyone else that is more optimistic than me, but were you at the game on Saturday? I was and can find no real reason to be as optimistic as you. I wish I could. With the games we have coming up I cannot see us getting more than a point or two if we are lucky. Please, give me something to cling to over the next 4 games!:emoticon-0107-sweat

Good thread starter Col, as 6 pages of replies(which I've not got time to read testify).!

Plenty of concerns were shown up Saturday, we'll soon see if the 'Taffia' are earning their money, & they're sorted on Saturday (massive match now) <yikes>

Come on Shefford, this is QPR remember? We never do it the easy way and we'll never have Arsenal like stability.

Plus you never bought that round at the Springbok. If we do as badly as you predict I'll get a round in

Yep, I was there at the top of the Loft. And I was distressed at our second half defensive performance, but largely encouraged by our first half performance. I 100% know that we have much better players and management than we did this time last year. I don't think there could be a better time to be on the end of a stunning defeat like this, we have time to learn from it.

But I do have previous regarding optimism and QPR. Just one of those types who is looking towards the next game, which in my head is always winnable, whatever the result of the last. I just get more pleasure out of following the Rs this way. No problem with those who take the opposite approach.

Everybody is entitled to their view of what went wrong and why, and this is the place to share them. I was just trying to inject some levity into a thread which seems to be spiraling into dangerously depressive areas. A walk and some water does genuinely improve the mood by the way, certainly when compared to sitting in front of a PC conducting an endless post mortem.....

Great opening post, Col, and I also liked Matt's response to (some of) your points. Between you, you've set out the parameters and major issues.

In the next 10 days, we'll have more incomings before the transfer deadline and will play Norwich and Man City.

Suggest the next major review then!

Norwich is now massive! We need at least a draw or pressure will start to build. I personally am going with the motion that Sat was a freak result. We fell apart after 2-0 and actually played quite well in the first half so was in a way better then Fulham and Bolton and Chelski results last year in which we were crap for pretty much 90 mins. Any team can fall apart, it even happened to United, was it last year? when they got hammered by City and Also Arsenal when they got hammered by United. It CAN happen, to anyone. Lets see what Sat brings........

Personally think we will beat Norwich ,

Spurs have got AVB, now would you swap our man Mark for him?? Thought not. We may have a chance of something there.

Anything against man city or Chelsea would be a bonus.

So would 4 points be considered a decent return from the next 4 games??

Many people are being too simplistic on this forum about what went wrong on Saturday, jumping straight down the throats of the defence. What we really saw was a team that will take a few games to gel. Yes we would all like some better players but whatever happens, we have enough quality to do well this year. The main problem with the defence on sat was clearly the fact that they were isolated especially when we chased the game in the second half. Once the midfield fail to track back, it's all too easy for defenders to be pulled out of position trying to stop a Swansea team flying at them at pace. I don't overly blame the players, once the midfield and defence work together as a unit, which they will, then it will all start to click into place. Just chill out, relax and wait til Xmas at the earliest before we run around like chicken licken claiming the sky is falling down......

That's a fair assessment. I think some of us are questioning why MH didn't get a lot of this sorted in pre season? He never played our best players all at the same time. Why? He used the games to sort out his fringe players rather than gel his first team, even though all signings (bar hoilett) were made prior to the Asia tour. No wonder he has a reputation for being a slow starter. He uses EPL games to finalise his first XI.
