READ THIS AND HAVE A GOOD LAUGH AT THE CHAVS Whilst no statement to this effect has been issued, reports are circulating in Coventry that the stadium management company at the Ricoh are contemplating shutting Coventry City FC out of the ground for their first home game of the season against Sheffield United tomorrow night. The exercise of this nuclear option would be very serious. The Sky Blues would then be unable to fulfill their fixtures and the usual consequence of that is expulsion from the Football League, although the league would not want to lose a club. Given that a court ruling gave Coventry City more time to pay, such an action might not be viewed favourably from a legal perspective even though the club is clearly in breach of its tenancy agreement. To me this looks like the latest act of brinkmanship in a long drawn out negotiating process. Apparently, further talks are set for tomorrow morning and hopefully both parties will step back from the brink and come to a mutually accepted compromise. Without a football tenant, the Ricoh would lose much of its purpose. However, the stadium management has become exasperated by the length of the discussions. They still have to meet the capital and running costs of the stadium. For their part Coventry City FC claim that they cannot afford to pay £100,000 a month in rent when they are in League 1, although they spend far more on player wages. An acceptable compromise might be for the rent owed from April to be paid and for a reduced rent to be agreed from now on.
I'd say that they would have to do a Pompey and sell all the players on the books and get in youth, but that wouldn't really save them much money, as they were already using a fair ammount of youth players when they went down.
I was overjoyed when they went down - never have I known a team with such hateful bastards as supporters - But then it sank in on Saturday that I'll miss the matches against them
Can't see us paying them again anytime soon. But I hope they come through this - never wish any club to fold or go out of business no matter how much I dislike the fans.
Must be rare for you lot to actually be able to look down on a club despite your disastrous start to this years campaign.
Well their certainly resourceful in hiding their low attendances - I cut this comment from skybluestalk Diehard Si Experienced First Team Player -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Join Date: Feb 2008Posts: 463 90 Like Received In 60 Posts They include season tickets in attendance whether they go or not. We need to net more areas off though. Bunch people in together. Or maybe do like they did in Poland. Paint the seats diff colours do it looks like people on the crowd and not empty seats
disastrous start - Won our first game lost the second jaytab, you'll have to do better than that - Still this log in will shortly be banned, see ya
They'll be painting the shirt sponsor on the seats next and then attach frank side bottom heads on each one
