Bloody hell, Fletcher or Dempsey? Dempsey every time. Be surprised mind, even though it looks like he burnt his boats by refusing to play, to try to force a move to the bindippers.
To be honest I think I would rather have Fletcher. He is younger and I think will score more goals with our style of play. Still I would not be unhappy with Dempsey as long as we get AJ.
Dempsey is wanted by Liverpool but maybe they have spent their budget and only have a bit to play with so they are waiting until the last minute, however if we are interested and stump up more than Liverpool are willing to pay then it would be up to the player but not sure on Clint's views of the North East! I dont want to temp anythting but just imagine Fletcher/Dempsey & AJ in the next few weeks! Im with lostinvegas on this one, I would rather we get Fletcher who is an out and out striker and suits our style more, also he has more years ahead of him as I think Dempsey is 29 and Fletcher 25.
Would love Dempsey an excellent player. Johnson is overrated imo. There is a reason he does not play that often for City and that is that he is a wide man who switches off let's people run past him and neglects his defensive duties. On the other hand he is good on the ball and creates quite a few chances. It's what he does off the ball that is the worry and why Mancini doesn't play him much. Can we accommodate a luxury player in the side?
Would love this to be true and there may be some mileage in it if Liverpool are going after Johnson as they might not be able to afford both. Will wait and see though before I get too excited!
WOW! Could the reason he does not get into the Man City side have something to do with the likes of David Silva maybe? He is very underrated if you ask me, he can beat a few men at a time, pick a pass out, put good crosses into the box and can finish. Damn right can we accommodate a 'luxury' player, that will take us to the next level.
Very good player indeed but I think he will be Liverpool bound. He's had a lot of opportunities to move and has remained loyal to Fulham. Liverpool is the first really big club to move for him and I think he has his heart set on a move. I can't see why you'd go to the trouble of kicking up such a stink unless you knew they wanted you. So I suspect Liverpool will finalise the deal. If not he'd be a cracking signing.
Nmg Johnson is a great player. Hes not playing much at citeh simply because of the depth of quality. I'd take a City reject over most other players any day Dempsey... Hell yeah
