Well.....I have to say Matt that you've completely ignored ALL the content of the article and commented entirely on the one game. I'm not sure I even mentioned the Swansea game. What do you think of the selection conundrum/the formation conundrum/the transfer market dealings/Hughes's tactical nous??????? All of these were in the article but you chose to ignore all the points made and simply rubbish it!! Very poor!
Another who hasn't read the article properly. I was making observations on Hughes and the predicament we find ourselves in with tricky fixtures ahead. A predicament we shouldn't have been in after an opening fixture at home to Swansea and a full pre-season! Instead of just swinging from the hip....why not answer some of the points made/raised in the article? I made no conclusions or predictions of doom.....simply voicing concerns and observations. Obviously that's not allowed on a forum then!!
Sorry Col. The thread did get carried away with panic and that wound me up. Yes it is all reactionary because you're basically worried that we've got too much choice in midfield. Poor little us! Yes, you're right, having Faurlin back will help because he is better at sticking to the area just in front of the back 4. We knew that before the season started. Derry might be too old but he may not. We might struggle to put both Hoilett and Taarabt in the same team. We knew that all this before the game but, because it gets wrapped up with questions about Hughes' ability to make decisions after we got turned over then yes, it definitely is knee-jerk.
Got to say DT has deffinately got it right guys use the Monkey Mind and Chill once you allow Mooji to enter your soul all be OK.
Col, most of what Staines and I put was down to the vibes of the thread in general and not necessarily the OP. Of course you're entitled to voice your concerns as we are allowed to address them.
I have read every word and I don't we even understand a conundrum. All this stuff comes from within ... The monkey on your shoulder of you understand. My words are not condesending or righteous only you have the answer ... If you choose to worry about stuff that you can't control then go ahead ... Debate is fine but it feels like nothing is resolved I trust our football manager as I know he is doing everything to make our football club successful as are the players ... If you allow Monkey to infect you then it grows and you can infect others. What makes you happy? The road you are on will never bring you happiness or strength inside We have come so far and now we want to gorge ourselves on success. Sometimes **** happens I of course hope we get a result as it will lift us but if it doesn't it will be a test This forum is tense not because of the subjects that upset a few but it's because we as a fan base are growing quickly and monkey doesn't want success for us .. He wants us down fighting and suffering ... Seems he is winning with most ... Not get changed out of your leotard lads and lets get in the ice bath
Col, before you start getting bolshie I was NOT making any comment on your OP, which was as always, a well written piece, which I actually enjoyed reading. What I was commenting on(and I thought it was clear what I was commenting on) was the general tone of doom that the thread, and the board in general had become. Personally, I thought that was pretty obvious, but if it wasn't and you took offence then please accept my apologies
Just a quick question to those of you that are more optimistic than me; predictions for the next 4 games please. Personally, I can see us getting **** all. Norwich 2-1 QPR Man City 3-1 QPR QPR 0-2 Chelsea Tottenham 2-1 QPR These are my honest thoughts, I hope I am wrong. Please be honest with your predictions.
Mate you might not be far wrong (though I do think we will edge Norwich). I will still be optimistic 'cos I don't know any other way. If it does go the way you say then f*** it, there are still 33 games to go and 99 points to play for, and for one definately ain't gonna admit defeat THAT early.
Shefford, completely agree with you, I have never been a Hughes fan and I do not believe he kept us up last season, rather, Bolton and others got themselves relegated This season he has no excuses, it is his team, he has brought in the new players, so if results go against him, he has to go
Too true Col - you made a very good OP, yet the thread has descended into multiple platitudes about it was only 1 game and how it will all be OK next week, month or year! There is no need to reach for the anti-depression pills, but all this empty, false optisim twoddle is making me sick - we've had it all summer, and to persist now is ridiculous - we and the Club Management need a reality shot, if it wasn't 0-5 home to Swansea, what TF is needed! That defeat Saturday was one of the worse I remember because of all the expectation, far worse than the 0-4 last season when we knew it was going to be hard, but saw a gleam of hope with TF coming in. Your thread adressed some of the real issues which are good to discuss, there is no lunacy or mass hysteria in this!! Keep your thoughts coming - great stuff.
If I was over-optimistic, then I'd say that a win at Carrow Road and draws against Chelsea and Spurs are possible. If I was realistic, then I'd say on point (at Norwich) from a possible twelve is not unreasonable. But can't argue with you pessimism.
It seems then that some of you agree. If the worst came to the worst as I suspect it will, TF WILL act. You do not become as rich as him by employing losers. Hughes will therefore be gone before Xmas. I was watching him intently on Saturday and he looked clueless. A fact confirmed for me when he took off Clint Hill and replaced him with SWP. THAT for me shows that he is inept. I really hope I am wrong, but I fear that I am not. Please, those of you that disagree do not slate me for having an opinion. I am, have been for 40+ years and will always be a Rangers fan, through thick and thin. U Rrrrrrrs!
Nah Oslo, you are right. From now on I and the other so called 'optimists' on here shall wear sackcloth and ashes, run around LR chanting 'We're doomed, we're doomed' and do our best to get the head of the Manager on a stake. And FYI (and if you could be bothered to read both my and Matts reply to Col), we were not having a pop a Cols thread, which as I've said before, was very well written and up to Cols usual high standards, but commenting on the usual 'prophets of doom' that seem to infest forums like this.
Now that made me laugh out very loud . I will do it, if you promise that when we reach safety you promise to dress as an oompa-loompa and run round LR chanting 'we are not worthy' whilst kissing a large photo of MH's arse !! Nothing like a bad result to get fellow R's at each others throat huh
I was about to say the same. These questions will answer themselves over the course of the season and MH will soon know who's on form.
